Control Resonant’s Initial PC Requirements Include 100 GB of Installation Space

Beyond the excitement for Marvel’s Wolverine and God of War Laufey, a major takeaway from the recent State of Play presentation is the number of games scheduled for release in September. This includes Control Resonant from Remedy Entertainment, and to build anticipation, they’ve shared the first look at the PC specifications needed to run it.

One thing that really stands out is the game’s large file size – you’ll need 100 GB of free space on a solid-state drive to install it. That’s significantly more than Remedy’s previous game, Control Ultimate Edition, which only needed 42 GB even with all its expansions. This confirms Remedy’s claim that this is their biggest and most ambitious project yet, particularly in terms of how much storage it requires.

To run this, you’ll need at least an Intel Core i5-8500 or a similar AMD processor, 16 GB of RAM, and a GeForce GTX 1070 or Radeon RX 5600 XT graphics card. For a better experience, we recommend a Ryzen 7 3700X or comparable Intel processor, 16 GB of RAM, and an RTX 3070 or RX 6700 XT. These are just the starting specs – details like graphics settings and resolution aren’t included. It’s compatible with both Windows 10 (64-bit) and Windows 11.

Launching on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5 on September 24th, Control Resonant is being optimized by Remedy to run at 60 frames per second on all platforms. We’ll share more gameplay footage and the full PC system requirements closer to the release date.
