Control Resonant’s Paranatural Journey Begins on September 24th

Remedy Entertainment has revealed a new trailer and release date for Control Resonant, the sequel to Control. The game launches on September 24th for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC, and pre-orders are open now. A Digital Deluxe Edition is also available, offering perks like 48-hour early access, in-game resources, and a special outfit.

The new trailer is a bit mysterious. It starts with quick glimpses of Dylan Faden’s past, showing memories of his sister and his suffering while being held captive. Then, he learns about a strong energy surge that happened when the Federal Bureau of Control’s lockdown lifted. Someone questions his affiliation – he’s not part of the FBC, and seemingly not even human. Despite this, Dylan continues to act as a hero, but the situation is incredibly dangerous.

Okay, so it’s been seven years since the first Control game (let’s just forget Firebreak happened!), and things are seriously messed up in Manhattan. A huge, crazy paranormal event is taking over the city. The best part? Jesse’s brother finally wakes up from his coma and heads in to try and fix it. He’s working with the FBC, and honestly, I’m hoping he’ll find Jesse while he’s at it!

Remedy, the studio behind Control Resonant, calls it their largest and most ambitious project yet, drawing inspiration from works like the Southern Reach trilogy, The X-Files, and Roadside Picnic. The game features much more diverse combat options, letting players create builds focused on fast-paced melee attacks or powerful supernatural abilities. New Game Plus adds even more customization, unlocking a fourth Artifact slot for truly unique and powerful combinations.
