Coronation Street airs big Jodie Ramsey twist as she closes in on another resident in early ITVX release

Jodie Ramsey (played by Olivia Frances Brown) remains a mysterious figure on Coronation Street, and it’s still unclear what her motives are.

I’ve been watching this character, and honestly, it’s heartbreaking. She’s been stealing the strangest things – a photo of Bernie, even a book from Brian! But it’s more than that, isn’t it? Her attempts to get close to David… it’s just so clear she’s really struggling with something deep down. It’s not just mischievousness; it feels like a cry for help.

Her actions appear to be rooted in resentment towards her sister, Shona (Julia Goulding). Shona has seemingly enjoyed a carefree life, while she shouldered the responsibility of caring for their sick father.

Things are tense at the Platt house now that David has discovered Shona tried to seduce him and has shared everything with her. While Shona believes it was just a misunderstanding, David knows the truth.

Jodie overheard David telling Shona she needed to leave, and it made her incredibly angry. In response, she hinted that their recent intimate moment might have meant something more than David was letting on.

Shona didn’t seem bothered, and Jodie started to think it was time to move out, even though she knew it wouldn’t be easy. She went to the Viaduct Bistro for a drink and was surprised to learn that Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) was on vacation in the Lake District.

Of course, as viewers know, he’s actually hiding away in his flat and avoiding his family.

Ken Barlow explained he’d been away, leaving his son to care for his grandson, Bertie. This meant he’d be going out to collect Bertie from school, which sparked an idea for Jodie.

She hurried to the backyard of Number One and tried the back door. Luckily, a spare key was hidden under a flowerpot, and she was able to get inside.

She settled comfortably into Ken’s chair and picked up the newspaper to complete the crossword puzzle. But when she heard Ken and Bertie coming home, she quickly ducked into the kitchen and hid behind the cabinets.

Things went from bad to worse when Amy Barlow came home and headed to the kitchen for a drink. Young Bertie was really craving fish and chips, so Ken and Amy decided to give in and get him some.

Just before leaving, Ken realized someone had already answered one of the questions on his puzzle. Meanwhile, Jodie found herself alone once more and swiftly took Daniel’s keys from the cabinet.

Is he about to receive a huge shock?

Producer Kate Brooks has teased that an unlikely friendship is on the cards for the two.

She shared with TopMob and other reporters at a recent event that she believes most people will be surprised by this new understanding of what motivates them both.

It’s amazing to finally see Daniel really open up and be honest about what he’s going through. And it’s great that Jodie can be totally honest with him too, especially since he’s struggling so much right now. It feels like a really important moment for both of them.

“There’s some interesting dynamics between them.”
