Carl Webster, played by Jonathan Howard, didn’t succeed in his attempt to ruin Theo Silverton, who is portrayed by James Cartwright, on Coronation Street.
A few months back, Carl accidentally heard Theo admit to a terrible secret: he let Billy Mayhew die in a minibus fire after a car crash.
Carl and Theo had a disagreement, and Carl was told to stay out of the situation. He hadn’t seen any benefit in revealing what he knew until recently. When Theo started mistreating his husband, Todd Grimshaw, Carl advised Summer Spellman to consider people closer to home when investigating Billy’s death.
I was absolutely floored when Carl offered to get rid of the guy, and even more shocked when he asked for ten thousand pounds! Mum, Debbie, was understandably furious with him trying to profit from the situation, but he just seemed determined to make some fast money anyway.
During their conversation today, he explained to Summer that once he got his revenge on Theo, he’d need to leave town immediately and therefore needed the money beforehand. Summer responded by saying she wasn’t fooled and wouldn’t give him any money until he’d actually carried out his revenge.

Carl said he intended to provoke Theo into fighting, and then falsely accuse him of assault.
Theo was quickly causing trouble at the police station. He got into an argument with Gary Windass, even knocking Gary’s coffee over. However, Gary didn’t let Theo provoke him and simply walked away.
Carl believed they could use security camera footage from nearby stores to show he was the one trying to start a conflict with Gary, but he emphasized that the police should be allowed to conduct their investigation without interference.

At the Rovers Return pub, Theo insisted on being served a drink. However, the pub’s owner, Eva Price (played by Catherine Tyldesley), told him to leave, and Carl immediately went after him.
Carl and Theo argued in the street again, with Carl deliberately trying to provoke Theo into fighting. However, Theo quickly realized Carl was trying to goad him and believed Todd was behind it.

Theo didn’t want to fight, but he strongly warned his opponent that he planned to get even, and would do so in secret, where no one could see. Kit Green, played by Jacob Roberts, overheard the argument and told Theo to leave.
He cautioned Carl to stay out of it, then returned to the corner shop to let Summer know their previous agreement was canceled.
Could Theo kill Carl during Corrie’s forthcoming ‘Murder Week’?
