*Warning: Spoilers for Wednesday 25th June’s episode of Coronation Street, available now on ITVX.*
In the most recent episode of Coronation Street, there’s an unexpected turn of events for Debbie Webster, played by Sue Devaney.
After Debbie suffered a collapse that prompted her to disclose her dementia diagnosis to her family, she disappeared from the hospital.
Or,
Debbie’s collapse and subsequent revelation of her dementia diagnosis caused her to vanish from the hospital.
Both sentences convey the same information in a natural and easy-to-read manner.
On Wednesday (25th June 2025), Debbie reassured her brother Kevin (Michael Le Vell) over the phone that she was taking a break at a spa, which seems to have alleviated his concerns for her.
But we soon see that, actually, a dishevelled Debbie is calling from a police station.
Later, Abi, Kevin’s wife (played by Sally Carman-Duttine), receives a call from Debbie and leaves to fetch her.
But as Abi comes to her rescue, what’s happened to Debbie?
To discover what transpired in the specific episode, you need to tune into ITVX right away. Alternatively, you could tune in to ITV at 8 pm.
Despite whatever secret activities Debbie may be engaged in, she manages to maintain a sense of humor throughout. There are also heartwarming moments shared by Devaney and fellow actor Carman-Duttine, as Debbie speaks candidly about her health struggles.
By the close of this coming week, I find myself on a quest to reconcile with my former fiancee, Debbie. I’ve arranged for a bottle of champagne, intending to deliver it to her hotel room, hoping to rekindle our relationship once more. I ask her to consider giving us another chance together.
Debbie acknowledges that she has strong feelings for Ronnie, yet declines a reunion because she wishes for him to discover joy somewhere else, rather than taking on the role of her caretaker.
It seems quite evident that Ronnie cherishes Debbie deeply, and for a long time, he has suspected there were underlying reasons behind their split beyond what Debbie initially disclosed.
So, can Ronnie convince Debbie to take a chance on love, and learn to rely on him?
It’s been verified that Devaney’s fictional character’s tale will continue to unfold on our screens up until 2027. As she keeps receiving accolades for her captivating portrayals, we eagerly anticipate seeing much more of Debbie.
Anyone affected by Debbie’s storyline can visit Dementia UK or call its helpline on 0800 888 6678.
