Coronation Street confirms casting of new character linked to evil Megan Walsh ahead of villain’s exit

Coronation Street will introduce a new character connected to the current story about Megan Walsh and Will Driscoll, which focuses on manipulative behavior.

Over the last several months, Megan manipulated her student, Will Driscoll, and became pregnant with his child. Together, they intimidated Sam Blakeman into keeping quiet about what happened, but Sam eventually reported it to the police, leading to Megan’s arrest.

There wasn’t enough proof to press charges against her initially. However, once Will revealed details about their relationship and was arrested, things changed.

People on Coronation Street soon found out Megan was free from prison, and recently she tried to get in touch with Will.

Last month, news broke that actress Helen Nixon is leaving the show. While details of how her character will depart are still being finalized, the storyline is expanding with the arrival of Megan’s mother, Janine, played by Melissa Jacques, in Weatherfield.

Catherine Tyldesley told TV Times that Ben will be furious when he finds out who Janine really is – it’s like she’s intentionally provoking him.

Janine attempts to apologize for Megan, confused about how things escalated. Eva realizes that even those raised in stable, caring homes can experience serious problems.

She said it wasn’t Janine’s fault. Then Maggie pointed out that Megan must have picked up this behavior from someone else.

Kate Brooks, the series’ producer, hinted that the storyline still had some way to go, but assured viewers that Megan would ultimately be held accountable for her actions.

Brooks explained the story centers on a family dealing with collapse, but ultimately working to rebuild and fix the problems caused by Megan’s actions.

It’s clear that consequences will come for Megan’s actions, just as they always do in these situations. She won’t be able to avoid facing some kind of punishment. We’ll handle this through official procedures.

I’m not sure how things will turn out, but this situation is likely to have significant consequences. Will is really struggling after his experience with Megan, and things are becoming quite difficult and upsetting.

Coronation Street airs weeknights at 8:30pm on ITV1 or can be streamed from 7am on ITVX.
