Coronation Street reveals incriminating evidence in Theo murder investigation in early ITVX release

Everyone in Coronation Street is wondering who was responsible for the death of Theo Silverton (James Cartwright), the abusive character who died last week.

While celebrating the wedding of the Connor-Swains, Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) discovered a body in the backyard of the corner shop.

According to series producer Kate Brooks, the identity of the murderer won’t be revealed until late June or July. Until then, expect a classic soap opera scenario where nearly everyone in Weatherfield becomes a suspect and is questioned.

This week on the show, both George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) and Christina Boyd (Amy Robbins) have been questioned. Lisa Connor-Swain (Vicky Myers) noticed blood on George’s sweater and he confessed it was from a previous argument with Theo.

She worried learning he’d spent much of the evening walking alone, which meant he couldn’t reliably account for his whereabouts when Theo died.

The complete list of suspects, made public on Monday, features Todd Grimshaw (played by Gareth Pierce), Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby), Gary Windass (Mikey North), and Danielle Silverton (Natalie Anderson).

Today’s episode focused on Gary, after people saw him deleting security camera footage. The footage proved he’d damaged Theo’s van and then sent Theo a threatening text.

His wife, Maria Connor, called him early that morning, concerned about why he’d left so soon. She sensed he was upset and hiding something. Eventually, he admitted he’d deleted a video to keep the police from finding out what he’d done.

She was very surprised, but she was told not to worry because the security camera footage had been permanently deleted.

Before his lunch date with Maria at the Bistro, Gary was unexpectedly taken in for police questioning. Lisa was certain he’d sent the threatening message to Theo and suspected he might also be involved in the damage to the van.

Gary insisted he hadn’t been involved and explained his security cameras automatically erased footage weekly. Lisa responded that she would ask their IT specialist to try and recover the data, which made Gary nervous.

Luckily, Maria backed up his account, confirming they’d been together at the building supply yard that evening. Gary felt relieved, but it was obvious Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) remained skeptical.

Later that evening, while Sally and Tim looked at photos from the wedding, Gary was visible in the background, walking away from where Theo had been found.

Is he the killer?
