Coronation Street’s Maggie Driscoll fears for Ben’s future after horrifying realisation in early ITVX release

As a long-time Coronation Street fan, I’m on the edge of my seat with Maggie Driscoll‘s storyline! She’s keeping a big secret, and honestly, it feels like it’s about to blow up in her face. Something recently happened that suggests it could all come out much sooner than anyone expected, and I’m really worried for her!

Last month, the show revealed a surprising connection: Ben (Aaron McCusker) is the son of the Rovers owner and Jim McDonald, who recently passed away on the show. This means Ben has been living near his half-brother, Steve (Simon Gregson), without realizing their family connection for months.

Adding to the complications, Ben’s son, Ollie, is currently dating Steve’s daughter, Amy Barlow.

Hoping to create tension between them, she asked Lauren Bolton (played by Cait Fitton) to pretend to be Ollie’s heartbroken ex-girlfriend, hoping he would realize how much he cared for her.

Maggie wasn’t happy to see Ben with Steve at Jim’s funeral, and hurried into the back of the pub when she spotted two of Jim’s former army buddies arrive. She clearly recognized them and was worried about what might happen.

Later that evening, Declan came to find her in the beer garden. He confirmed he remembered her as the woman Jim had an affair with forty years earlier. He said he didn’t want to cause trouble, but the conversation still made her uneasy.

Ben started the day with a terrible hangover, waking up on a booth seat in the Rovers pub. His partner, Eva Price, gently reminded him he had a hospital appointment for a heart check-up, but he’d unfortunately slept through it.

Maggie was upset to learn at Jim’s wake that he had been living with myotonic dystrophy for several years.

After arguing with George Shuttleworth, she quickly left the pub and went to Street Cars to ask Steve about Jim’s health. She became very worried when Steve explained that Jim’s condition could lead to heart problems.

Maggie has now become convinced that Ben has inherited it.

How will she explain this to him?
