Colleen Hoover’s popular novel has been adapted into a new romantic drama, Reminders of Him, now playing in theaters. Music is a key element of the film, influencing both the story and the lead actress, Maika Monroe, who told TopMob that she relies on music to help her develop her characters.
In the movie, Kenna Rowan, played by Monroe, has a difficult relationship with music at first, finding it too painful to listen to. However, as her life evolves, her feelings about music change as well. Monroe explained that she connected with Kenna’s struggle, noting that music has a powerful ability to evoke memories and emotions. She found it compelling to explore this connection in her performance.
The movie stars Monroe and Tyriq Withers as Ledger, and features Grammy-winning country singer Lainey Wilson as Amy, a friend and colleague of Kenna’s. Fittingly, the film’s soundtrack is filled with country music, including an original new song by Noah Cyrus.
If you enjoyed the music in the movie and were tapping your feet along, here’s a list of all the songs featured in the romantic film.
