Pearl Abyss’ new open-world action game, Crimson Desert, has had a successful launch, selling two million copies globally in its first day. This strong start comes despite a nearly 30% drop in the company’s stock price following the release of initial game reviews.
This is just the first step for such a large project. Pearl Abyss thanked players and promised to carefully consider all feedback and make improvements quickly to ensure everyone has a great experience. The latest update already reflects this commitment, with improvements to stability and a fix for a frustrating sequence of events.
Despite the initial excitement, Crimson Desert currently has a “Mixed” rating on Steam, with 68% of over 6,166 user reviews being positive. Players are frequently complaining about the controls, user interface, and the inability to customize them. Managing inventory is also proving difficult, as players can’t store items at their camp.
Pearl Abyss has announced they’re adding storage to player homes, though they haven’t said when it will be available. They haven’t shared details about other improvements yet, but updates are likely coming soon. The studio has a long history of supporting their game, Black Desert, and responding to player feedback after launch.
Crimson Desert is now available on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. You can read our full review to learn what we loved and didn’t love about the game.
We are incredibly humbled to share that #CrimsonDesert has sold through 2 million copies worldwide. Thank you so much to our fans, community, and everyone who has joined us in Pywel. We will listen closely to the wide range of feedback shared by the community and work to make…
