Ever since its surprise reveal, excitement for Cronos: Lazarus has been steadily increasing, especially with the announcement that it will be featured at the upcoming IGN Live event.
Details have been limited, leading to a lot of guessing about whether the new project would be an extension of Cronos: The New Dawn, or a completely separate game. Recent tweets from leaker intercelluar suggest it’s an expansion of the existing game.
That result isn’t surprising considering how well-received The New Dawn was. We were particularly impressed with how it handled its horror and built its world. The story itself was also strong, offering a thoughtful and complex look at themes like greed, indifference, and the desire for a brighter future – which is why we gave it such a high rating.
We’re cautiously looking at the rumors online until there’s an official confirmation, but the leaked pictures suggest we might play as ND-F077, the character who eventually becomes the Warden. It makes you wonder what events led him to that position.
We’re hoping the results will relate to the dramatic events in post-apocalyptic Poland, but that’s just a guess for now. Luckily, we won’t have to wait long to see if we’re correct – look for more information later this week.
