Based on the manga series by Negi Haruba, the anime The Quintessential Quintuplets first aired in 2019. The first season, created by Tezuka Productions, follows Futaro Uesugi, a high school student who starts a well-paying job tutoring…

Throughout the series, Futaro has a hard time getting used to his new situation and earning the trust of the Nakano sisters. Initially, the sisters strongly resist his presence, but he gradually develops close relationships with each of them.

The first season of The Quintessential Quintuplets received positive reviews and was very popular with viewers. A second season followed in 2021, animated by Bibury Animation Studios. While the second season was also a big hit, fans didn’t receive any further full seasons of the anime.

Despite a modest box office performance of just over $18.4 million, The Quintessential Quintuplets made a comeback in 2022 and was highly praised by critics and audiences alike. It currently has a 7.4/10 rating on IMDb, based on over 3,500 reviews.

In 2023, fans of The Quintessential Quintuplets received a special two-part episode featuring Futaro and the Nakano sisters on a trip to a water park.
