Hajime Isayama’s manga, Attack on Titan, finished its run in 2021 after 12 years, and while the ending proved divisive, the series had a huge impact on fans—so much so that it received the first-ever Global Impact Award at the 2025 Crunchyroll Anime Awards. After Season 3, the anime production switched studios from WIT Studio to MAPPA due to scheduling demands. MAPPA not only continued the series but also improved the animation quality and broadened its popularity. Their adaptation, along with some changes made to the story, ultimately addressed many fans’ concerns about the ending.
The last season of Attack on Titan picks up four years later, released in two parts and two special episodes between 2020 and 2023. While the main story is finished in both the anime and manga, the series continues to release new content. With a huge international fanbase eagerly awaiting updates, Crunchyroll has just announced some exciting news for U.S. fans as the year comes to a close.
Attack on Titan’s Season 4 SteelBook Blu-ray Will Soon Be Released
The Crunchyroll store says the Blu-ray is scheduled to ship on November 25th, 2025. It’s been available to pre-order since before September, and you can still order it now. The Blu-ray includes bonus content like behind-the-scenes footage of the 3DCG animation process and discussions with the staff.
This Blu-ray collection includes episodes 60-87, plus two bonus specials, totaling 986 minutes of content. You’ll also find extra features like voice actor interviews from the final season, the Chibi Theater shorts, an eyecatch gallery, promotional videos, and opening/ending sequences without credits. Currently listed at $69.98, it’s on sale for $50.38, and members can save even more.
What’s Next For Attack on Titan?
The story suggests the cycle could continue, but so far, the creator, Hajime Isayama, hasn’t announced any plans for a sequel or spin-off. During the manga’s run, Isayama felt a lot of pressure and often struggled with burnout trying to meet the publisher’s deadlines. It became harder to satisfy fans as the ending approached, and the final chapters ultimately sparked a lot of debate and disagreement.
Even though the author isn’t creating a new manga series right now, fans still have things to look forward to! A special artbook called FLY was recently released to celebrate the manga’s 15th anniversary. Plus, the anime is getting a remastered re-release in theaters. You can currently watch the anime on Crunchyroll and Hulu, and read the manga digitally on Kodansha’s website.
