Anime films have had a fantastic year, and Crunchyroll just released a highly anticipated movie that’s available to stream immediately. With films like Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle and Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc dominating theaters, anime is gaining huge popularity. Luckily, many of these films are also becoming available to watch at home through streaming, including some that fans have been eagerly awaiting.
The new movie, Fuuto PI: The Portrait of Kamen Rider Skull, is now available on Crunchyroll! Spotted on X by @WTK, this film was originally released in Japan last year but wasn’t widely available internationally until now. Fans can finally watch it with English subtitles. It offers a fresh perspective on the Kamen Rider universe and is definitely worth a watch for Crunchyroll subscribers.
What Is Fuuto PI: The Portrait of Kamen Rider Skull?

The movie Fuuto PI: The Portrait of Kamen Rider Skull premiered in Japan in November 2024 and is now available internationally on Crunchyroll. It kicks off the Fuuto PI anime series, which is based on the official manga sequel to the live-action Kamen Rider W. The anime, originally created by Riku Sanjo and illustrated by Masaki Satou, proved popular with fans and continues the story in this new film. This movie focuses on a different Rider than the original series and adds a significant piece to the overall anime story.
Yousuke Kabashima, who also directed the original anime series, returns to direct Fuuto PI: The Portrait of Kamen Rider Skull at Studio KAI. The film also includes writing by Tatsuto Higuchi, character designs by Hidekazu Ebina, and music by Kotaro Nakagawa, Shuhei Naruse, and Hideaki Tsukada. Kenjiro Tsuda joins the cast as the voice of Sokichi Narumi, alongside Ayumu Murase as a young Shotaro Hidari, Satomi Satou as Taboo Dopant, and Jun Fukuyama as Nagi Oshima. This film is a significant addition to the Kamen Rider anime world.
What’s Next for Anime Movies?

Anime movies have had a fantastic year, and that momentum is expected to continue. Highly anticipated films like Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution are set to release in December, and Crunchyroll has more theatrical releases planned. While fans are eager for these movies to become available on streaming, they’ll need to stay tuned for official announcements about when that will happen.
I’ve learned that fans will have a pretty long wait for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle. It seems it’s staying in theaters for the rest of this year, which means we probably won’t see it on streaming services until 2026, though things could always change. I’ll be keeping an eye on how it all unfolds.
