Fans can now watch a popular film from Shonen Jump on Crunchyroll, which some may have missed in theaters. Crunchyroll has exciting plans for the rest of the year and into 2026, including new anime series and movies. In addition to these new releases, they’ll also be adding older, licensed titles for fans to enjoy.
I noticed this week that the Me & Roboco movie is now streaming on Crunchyroll! It originally came out in Japanese theaters last year and was a fun surprise for fans, even featuring a crossover with characters from other popular anime. Unfortunately, it didn’t get a wide international release until now, so it’s great that fans can finally watch it on Crunchyroll.
Me & Roboco: The Movie Is Now Streaming With Crunchyroll
Me & Roboco: The Movie is the first full-length film based on the popular manga series by Shuhei Miyazaki. Directed by Akitaro Daichi and produced by Studio Gallop (who also created the short anime series), the movie expands on everything fans love about the original story. The series, known for its humor and frequent references to other manga in Shonen Jump, features a compelling story with some well-known talent involved.
The movie Me & Roboco: The Movie told a story that explored different versions of the robot Roboco, each inspired by popular series from Shonen Jump. The voice cast included big names from those anime: Mayumi Tanaka, known as Luffy from One Piece, voiced a Roboco from a world focused on action, Masako Nozawa (Goku from Dragon Ball) played a Roboco reminiscent of classic funny anime, Sumire Uesaka voiced a Roboco inspired by romantic comedies, and Shigeru Chiba played a Roboco from a post-apocalyptic world similar to Fist of the North Star.
What Even Is Me & Roboco?
I’ve been a huge fan of Shuehei Miyazaki’s Me & Roboco – it’s seriously taken off in Shonen Jump! It first came out in 2020, and it’s constantly getting buzz for all its funny moments and clever references to other awesome series. It’s exactly the kind of hilarious, gag-driven story we needed in 2026, and honestly, it’s still going strong – I don’t see it stopping anytime soon!
Many fans likely first discovered the world of anime through the original short-form TV series, which featured only five-minute episodes. Production of the movie was delayed for a year, but now that Me & Roboco: The Movie is available on Crunchyroll, fans can finally see what all the excitement is about.
