Crunchyroll’s Best Sci-Fi Anime Sets Finale Release Date

Summer 2025 has been a fantastic season for anime, particularly on Crunchyroll. The platform released Takopi’s Original Sin, a truly exceptional series that tackles surprisingly mature and dark subject matter. Beyond that, popular shows like Dandadan and Kaiju No. 8 returned with new seasons. For romance fans, Season 2 of My Dress-Up Darling was a clear winner. And adding to the excitement, Crunchyroll also brought back Dr. Stone, their top sci-fi anime, after a six-year hiatus.

The latest season of *Dr. Stone* has concluded its first half, with 12 episodes airing this summer. The entire final season, titled “Science Future,” will be released in three parts. The first part aired earlier this year, and the second just finished. After the last episode of the second part, the official *Dr. Stone* social media account announced that the final part will arrive in 2026, potentially sooner than expected. No specific release date has been revealed yet.

Crunchyroll’s Best Sci-Fi Anime Ends Next Year

The last part of *Dr. Stone*, coming next year, will continue the story of Senku and the Kingdom of Science as they travel to the moon with Dr. Xeno. They’re going to confront the Why Man and find out why he wants to wipe out humanity. Although the previous season ended with them starting over, a lot of groundwork has already been done, so things will move quickly in this final installment. This part will cover the last 34 chapters of the manga, and based on the anime’s usual pace, it will probably be around 12 to 13 episodes long.

Looking at the current timeline, it seems like the next season of the anime might be released as early as summer 2026. The second part of the final season came out several months after the first part finished, and since we haven’t gotten a specific date for the third part yet, I’m guessing there will be a longer wait – probably around six to nine months. It could even be as late as fall 2026, and it sounds like this final season might be just one part. While we don’t know all the details about how *Dr. Stone* will end, it’s clear that Senku and the Kingdom of Science are getting close to their goal of reviving everyone, with only one major enemy left to overcome.
