Good news for fans of Re:Zero -Starting Life in Another World! While episode 11 concludes the ‘Loss Arc’ of Season 4, the season isn’t over yet. A preview has been released for “The Recapture Arc,” which begins on August 12th and makes up the second half of Season 4.

Re:Zero Season 4 Confirms Recapture Arc Release Date

The fourth season of *Re:Zero -Starting Life in Another World begins its “Recapture Arc” on Saturday, August 12th in Japan. This part of the season will have eight episodes, which Crunchyroll will stream for viewers outside of Japan. The same team and voice actors from the first half of the season are returning for the second half, so it’s a good time to get caught up! Subaru’s recent challenges have been particularly intense and complex.

After being attacked by Gluttony, Subaru and his friends are desperately seeking a cure for Rem and Julius. Their search has led them to a strange tower in the middle of a desert, where they must pass trials to ascend. Subaru has reached an impasse, but now suffers from memory loss and is haunted by a mysterious voice that seems to be compelling him – and possibly others – to commit violence. Things are about to become even more chaotic following these recent events.

What’s Next for Re:Zero Season 4?

Similar to the “Loss Arc” where Subaru lost his memories and fell into despair, “The Recapture Arc” marks a shift towards hope and a way out of that darkness. The final episode includes a special song performance by Rie Takahashi, the voice of Emilia – it’s the first time she’s sung for the series since the very beginning.

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of *Re:Zero -Starting Life in Another World, Takahashi created a new version of “Stay Alive ~Regain~”. She wanted to capture the emotions surrounding the upcoming story arc. She explains that while staying true to the original song’s feeling, she infused it with Emilia’s current warmth and kindness, making it feel like a comforting presence for Subaru.
