In the game Cut That Wire, four individuals find themselves in a tense situation where they are all equipped with time bombs that are about to explode. However, one of them is actually an undercover saboteur. The goal for everyone is to cooperate, engage in mini-games, unravel deceptions, and vote on which wires to cut after each round. A wise decision could potentially reveal the traitor. On the other hand, a wrong choice moves the countdown towards disaster.
One participant could assume the Engineer’s position, responsible for identifying a secure line and influencing the team towards ensuring survival. Conversely, the impostor needs to deceive, manipulate tactics, and maintain a disguise to avoid being exposed.
Mini-Games That Test Deception
Each round introduces a tense Big Bluff mini-game designed to keep players guessing:
- Big Bluff Drawing: sketch from a prompt while the imposter fakes it with a different one.
- Big Bluff Picture: recall details from an image while the imposter scrambles with false info.
- Big Bluff Deck: swap and manage number cards to avoid suspicion and survive the vote.
After the games conclude, it’s voting time. The selected player snips a wire, and the result might reveal-or expel-the impostor. With bombs constantly counting down, each action, utterance, and choice can lead to triumph or catastrophe.
