I’d heard of CyberConnect 2, of course – they’ve been making games for ages! But I was surprised to learn they’re actually heading towards their 30th anniversary. Seriously, 30 years! That’s wild.
It seems the rumors are true, and the studio is planning a major announcement to mark the occasion. They’ll officially reveal the project next week, on February 16th.
According to CEO Hiroshi Matsuyama, this thing’s a “completely new game“, which is pretty exciting.
CyberConnect 2 is famous for creating several popular games, including the .hack RPG series, the Naruto: Ultimate Ninja games, and the critically acclaimed action game, Asura’s Wrath, released in 2012.
Much more recently, it brought us Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, and the Fuga: Melodies of Steel series.
I know they’ve done a bunch of licensed games before, but I’m really hoping this new one is something completely fresh and original. Thankfully, we won’t have to wait much longer to find out!
