D4vd Case: Authorities Share If Celeste Rivas Hernandez Was Pregnant

New details have come to light surrounding the death of Celeste Rivas Hernandez

As a devoted follower of this case, I’ve been anxiously awaiting any new information. It’s heartbreaking, but the death certificate for the 15-year-old has finally been released. According to the document TMZ obtained, it confirms she wasn’t pregnant, and hadn’t been in the past year. This comes three weeks after her body was found in the front trunk of a Tesla registered to D4Vd, and it’s just another tragic detail in this ongoing investigation. It’s incredibly sad.

The report further stated that a post-mortem examination, or autopsy, was conducted on Celeste’s body before it was returned to her family on September 23rd. The medical examiner is currently waiting for the results of toxicology tests to be completed.

I’ve been following this case closely, and the death certificate currently lists the cause of death as ‘deferred’ – meaning it’s still under investigation. The L.A. County Medical Examiner and the LAPD are working hard to figure out exactly what happened. I read that LAPD Captain Scot Williams told TMZ that detectives are trying to determine if this was a result of foul play, or if something else caused her death. It’s a really difficult time, and we’re all hoping for answers.

TopMob News has reached out to the LAPD but has not heard back.

I was glued to the Los Angeles Times, desperately hoping for any update, and they finally said the police were trying to figure out if Rivas Hernandez was connected to D4vd! It’s just…everything! And apparently, it wasn’t just any detectives on the case – it was the robbery-homicide detectives with the LAPD! Can you believe it? This is getting so serious, and I need to know everything.

The artist behind “Romantic Homicide” hasn’t spoken publicly about the situation, but a representative for D4vd (whose real name is David Anthony Burke) previously confirmed to NBC News that he is “fully cooperating with the authorities.”

The 20-year-old artist was touring to support his Withered album when Rivas Hernandez was found. He has now cancelled the rest of his shows, and currently has no concerts scheduled on his website.

On September 8th, Rivas Hernandez was discovered at a Hollywood vehicle impound lot. Police had been called to investigate a Tesla because of a “foul odor coming from a vehicle.” The body was later identified as the missing teenager, who had been reported missing on April 5, 2024, from Lake Elsinore, California – a city located 76 miles from where the car was found. More details are available here.

According to law enforcement sources who spoke with ABC News, the Tesla was parked close to a house in the Hollywood Hills that D4vd had been renting before his Withered World Tour began at the start of the summer.

According to the LA Times, detectives secured a search warrant for the property. Sources within law enforcement, familiar with the investigation, told the news outlet that they found several items inside the home, such as electronics and computers.

D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, was born in Queens, New York, and later relocated to Houston, Texas, at the age of 13.

D4vd started his career by streaming games like Fortnite, hoping to become popular on YouTube. In 2021, he faced problems with copyrighted music in his videos, so he asked his mom for help.

Oh my gosh, you guys, I was *listening* to this interview with him for Hero magazine – September 2024, can you believe it?! – and he was telling Benny Blanco the *most* heartbreaking thing! He was literally saying, “I’m like crying to Mom about it!” Can you even imagine?! He said he told her, “Yo, I don’t know what to do, I’m not making any money anymore, blah blah blah.” And his *mom* – seriously, a legend – was just on the phone and told him, “Just make your own music, go get out of my face!” And he said, right then and there, he was like, “Wait a minute. I could probably do that.”

After that, even though he hadn’t played any instruments or formally studied music – he just enjoyed singing – D4vd used a music-making app on his phone. It didn’t take long for some of his tracks to become popular online, and as more of his original songs gained traction on TikTok, his music career really started to flourish. It was a rapid rise to success.

The artist, who was 20 years old, finally put out his first album, Withered, in April 2025. He quickly followed this up with his very first tour around the world.

On September 8th, the Los Angeles Police Department responded to a tow yard in Hollywood after receiving reports of a bad smell coming from a car, according to law enforcement sources who spoke with NBC News.

Police discovered human remains inside a bag, concealed in the front trunk of a Tesla. The vehicle was registered in Hempstead, Texas, to D4vd’s legal name, David Anthony Burke.

According to police, the car was taken to the impound lot because it was left abandoned in the Hollywood Hills.

On September 16, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office announced that the remains discovered in a Tesla belonged to Celeste Rivas Hernandez, a 15-year-old who had been missing since April 5, 2024. She was only 13 years old when she disappeared.

Records from the Medical Examiner’s Office, reviewed by TopMob News on Sept. 17, indicated her cause of death was still under investigation. While her body was found on September 8, officials noted it seemed to have been in the vehicle for a significant amount of time before being discovered and was described as “severely decomposed.”

After Rivas Hernandez’s body was found, a representative for NBC News reported that the singer, D4vd, “has been told about the situation, and while he’s currently continuing his tour, he is fully cooperating with the police.”

Since then, D4vd canceled the remainder of his U.S. dates.
