One family is holding each other especially close tonight.
On the day of June 29th, as a Disney Cruise Line vessel arrived at its Florida dock after sailing to the Bahamas, a quick-thinking father leaped into action to save his daughter who had accidentally fallen from the ship, as reported by several fellow passengers aboard.
As a concerned bystander, I penned down my experience on Facebook: “A young girl accidentally fell off the ship, and without a moment’s hesitation, her father leaped overboard in an attempt to rescue her.” The alarm for ‘Man Overboard’ was triggered promptly. The dedicated Disney crew sprang into action swiftly. There were many passengers on board offering prayers for their safe return.
He added, “Both the little girl and dad were both successfully rescued!”
Accompanying his message, he also sent a picture showing rescuers transporting a father and daughter onto the ship. During the final stretch of their holiday cruise, which lasted four days, an alarm for a person falling off the ship was triggered aboard the vessel.
Disney Cruise Line verified the event, explaining to USA Today in a statement that they quickly saved two passengers from the water.
We highly praise our team members for their remarkable abilities and quick responses, which quickly got both passengers back on board the ship within a short time. It’s clear that we prioritize the security and health of our passengers, and this event underscores the efficiency of our safety measures.
TopMob News has reached out to Disney Cruise Line for comment and has not yet heard back.
Witnesses aboard the ship recorded a distressing event that unfolded, showing rescuers approaching the duo whose heads moved with the rhythm of the Atlantic Ocean’s waves. This scene was depicted in several TikTok clips. Finally, they were safely returned to the Disney Dream vessel.

2010 saw the enactment of the Cruise Vessel Security and Safety Act by Congress, mandating that all American-operated passenger ships incorporate technology capable of taking passenger images or detecting individuals who might have fallen overboard, as long as such technology exists.
In 2023, Disney Cruise Line assured USA Today that their ships are fitted with essential technology for onboard use.
