Dan Rivera Death: Coroner Shares Whether Annabelle Doll Was Present

New details about the mysterious death of Dan Rivera have been revealed.

A week following the death of a paranormal investigator in his Gettysburg hotel, where he was touring with the Annabelle doll – a supposedly haunted item that served as inspiration for the Conjuring series – a Pennsylvania coroner has disclosed whether this toy was present at the time of the 54-year-old’s demise.

The coroner overseeing Rivera’s case, Francis Dutrow, shared with CNN on July 17th that the Raggedy Ann doll, believed to be haunted by a young girl’s spirit, was absent from the room where Rivera was discovered deceased.

TopMob News has contacted Dutrow for comments on his recent remarks about Rivera’s passing, which Pennsylvania authorities classified as “natural” in their July 16 police report.

The coroner’s statement emerged a few days following the time when Jason Hawes, a former cast member of Ghost Hunters (from 2004 to 2016), publicly refuted claims linking a supposedly haunted item to Rivera’s unfortunate demise.

Lately, we’ve lost a compassionate individual,” Hawes expressed in a July 15 Facebook post. “Dan Rivera was a veteran of the Army, a father of four, a devoted husband, and someone deeply concerned for others. What makes this situation particularly difficult is seeing posts that attribute his death to items such as the Annabelle doll.

Investigators had previously declared that nothing out of the ordinary or suspicious was discovered in the room where Rivera’s body was found, but on social media platforms, there has been a lot of discussion centered around the intriguing connection between Rivera’s occupation and his untimely demise.

Some individuals are exploiting his demise for financial gain, which is truly appalling,” Hawes went on to say. “Dan was a devoted family man and a well-regarded paranormal investigator who left us far too early. Instead, let’s celebrate Dan for the person he was, rather than transforming his death into sensationalized fiction to garner views or attention.

Although Rivera’s demise wasn’t otherworldly, throughout his life, he delved into the unexplained phenomena of the paranormal. Continue reading to discover celebrities who have shared their personal ghost encounters…

Courteney Cox shares an eerie tale about a delivery man informing her that her house is haunted on the Howard Stern show. She recounted how he warned her of a presence behind her, causing her to feel startled. This wasn’t her only unsettling encounter, as she also experienced strange occurrences in London, such as seeing frightening faces and lights, as well as a moving plant. Upon sharing her experiences with her partner, Johnny McDaid, he dismissed them as being asleep. However, Courteney was adamant that she had indeed seen spirits, describing the encounter as “fun” but asking them not to return because she needed sleep. Fortunately, the strange occurrences ceased after her request.

Demi Lovato believes her childhood home in Texas is haunted, based on several unusual experiences she and her family have had. For instance, when Demi was a child, she claims to have been talking to an unseen presence that identified itself as Emily, a little girl depicted in a picture frame. Later, her younger sister also reported conversations with an unidentified entity residing in the closet.

One time, Demi invited friends over and dared them to witness something strange, to which they initially responded skeptically. However, Demi insists that soon enough, odd occurrences started happening—such as when her friend’s phone automatically texted “I think this place is haunted” multiple times. The friend was puzzled, asserting he hadn’t sent it repeatedly.

Still not convinced? Demi has more evidence to share. According to her, one time her uncle was watching TV when suddenly a balloon floated down the stairs by itself. Demi points out that balloons don’t typically float on their own, and this incident further supports her belief in the home’s haunting.

She relayed these experiences during an episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

In the movie The Conjuring, Joey King played a role as a child character. Interestingly, she experienced a real-life scary event during filming which wasn’t part of the script.

Joey explained on an episode of The Howard Stern Show that while filming scenes where the mother’s character gets possessed and bruised, she started getting mysterious bruises all over her body.

The makeup artists initially thought she was playing a prank with their fake bruises. However, Joey had to insist that she wasn’t lying about her real bruises. She then visited her doctor for blood tests, where she was diagnosed with ITP (Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura), a condition causing her body to lose most of its red platelets without any known cause.

This was surprising because Joey had never experienced any blood-related problems before or since then, and no one in her family has the same disorder. As a result, she needed to go to the hospital twice a day while filming The Conjuring in 2013. However, when she returned home, her platelet levels were back to normal, and she hasn’t shown any signs of that condition ever since.

Experience the chilling account of Ariana Grande’s unsettling encounter in Kansas City back in 2013, as she shared with Complex. The seven-time Grammy winner described a “ghost/demon experience” following her stay at a haunted castle. She recounted, “The next night we intended to visit Stull Cemetery, known as one of the seven entrances to hell on Earth.”

Ariana felt an oppressive wave of negativity in the car and detected the odor of sulfur, a recognized sign of demonic presence. She also noticed a fly inside the vehicle, another ominous symbol. “I sensed it was scary; let’s leave,” she told the publication. As they departed, she rolled down the window to bid farewell, saying, “We apologize for any disturbance; we didn’t mean to upset your peace.” Upon leaving, she captured a photograph, which showed three distinct demonic faces. After attempting to send this image to her manager, she received an eerie message: “This file can’t be sent, it’s 666 megabytes.”

The “Thank U, Next” artist also recollected seeing a massive black cloud hovering near her bed one night. “I started crying,” she continued. “I was on the phone, asking for guidance; what should I do? They advised me to tell it to go away. But I hesitated, fearing it would upset it. So instead, I chose to remain calm and not fuel its fear-induced appetite. I watched as it moved towards the foot of my bed before falling asleep on the phone. When I woke up, it was gone.

It’s clear that Octavia Spencer is comfortable having a spirit in her home. She shared on an episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2021 that she believes the previous owner, who was involved in Westerns, has become her protector. According to Spencer, this ghost keeps unwanted individuals away by making them feel uncomfortable and running them off. The Oscar winner explained that if someone stays at her place, they don’t want to return, which she sees as a sign that they don’t belong there. Although her ghost can be “shady” when she’s been gone for a while, such as by closing doors or turning off lights, Spencer emphasized that she appreciates the spirit but doesn’t want others bringing their own ghosts into her home. She made it clear that she only wants one ghost in her house and has set boundaries to ensure that her ghost doesn’t overstep its bounds.

Jennifer Aniston didn’t have a friendly relationship with the ghost she claimed resided in a house she once owned in Los Angeles. She shared this experience during an episode of The Late Late Show with James Corden in 2018. According to her, the dishwasher would start on its own, the coffee maker would turn on, and the stereo would blast music at full volume, causing fear. To rid the house of the spirit, someone suggested she call a specialist. The Morning Show actress explained that she invited a specialist over who burned frankincense and spoke to the spirit. Upon approaching the first corner, the dish containing the frankincense cracked. Moreover, a thick ashtray from 1975 on the table also shattered, prompting the specialist to ask Jennifer to leave so she could converse with the spirit. When asked what the spirit said, Jennifer replied that it disliked her roommate. Feeling guilty, she eventually moved out without telling her roommate about the ghostly encounter, fearing the news would be distressing.

Miley Cyrus once mentioned that there seems to be a spirit residing in her house, according to an interview with 102.7KIISFM’s JoJo Wright in 2020. She shared that a friend of hers had lost a parent, and upon the passing, they gave Miley all their Elvis Presley memorabilia. However, this collection was destroyed when her Malibu house caught fire in 2018.

In one room of her L.A. home, the Grammy winner had a photo of her friend’s deceased mother. After the fire, Miley stated that the woman began visiting her house in L.A., as if she ascended amidst the smoke from all the Elvis memorabilia.

Miley explained that it was like the fire “released” her friend’s mother, and she subsequently removed the picture. She described smelling cigarette smoke coming from the guest room, where the photo used to be, and noticed her dogs becoming agitated whenever she felt the same way. In fact, just a few nights ago, Miley thought she saw her friend’s mother sitting on the couch, teasing her dogs – something that the woman was known for doing. Her dogs would go into a frenzy during these instances.

Hurry on over to catch Keanu Reeves sharing his chilling ghost story.

The action hero opened up about an eerie encounter he had at his family’s New York apartment when he was around six or seven years old.

“There’s a doorway,” Keanu explained during a 2014 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!. “All of a sudden, we’re looking over there and this, like, jacket comes waving through the doorway. Just an empty…there’s no head, there’s no body, there’s no legs. It’s just there, and then it disappears.”

Although Keanu wasn’t too alarmed by the incident, his nanny certainly was.

“I was a little kid, and I was like, ‘Well that was interesting,'” he recalled. “And then I looked over at the nanny and she’s like this [jaw open]. And I’m like, ‘Oh wow, so that was real. Oh, OK. Wow! Cool!’

Vanessa Hudgens, who rose to fame in High School Musical, doesn’t seem to be attempting to escape any spiritual influences. Instead, she seems to embrace her capacity for connection. In a 2022 episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, she admitted, “I’ve come to terms with the fact that I see and hear things.”

One particular experience that stands out in her mind involves an old pull-along duck toy on the dining room table when she was eight years old. “The toy started moving alongside me as I walked,” explained The Princess Switch actress.

Now, Vanessa is eager to learn more about her abilities. She admitted, “I used to suppress it because it’s frightening. The unknown can be terrifying. But I recently decided, ‘No, this is a gift and something that I have the ability to use. So, I’m going to embrace it.’ And I recently conducted my first real paranormal investigation using equipment.

Here’s a different way of telling the story: In 2016, Hugh Grant shared an intriguing experience about one of his sons. He used to gaze intently at a corner in his room, which prompted others to notice a mysterious figure. Friends, family, and nannies were all reporting a young boy in the house when there was none.

Feeling it was time to address the issue, Hugh sought professional help. “I’m a logical, educated person, not an idiot,” he said on The Late Late Show. “Yet here I am, calling a ghostbuster.”

Upon arrival, the ghostbuster carried some sticks and declared they were going wild in the boy’s room. She claimed to feel a strong presence, stating she might vomit. Hugh suspected it was all a trick, as after burning about seven pounds of sage and banging a little drum, the ghostbuster announced that all spirits had left the premises.

However, the question remained: were they really gone? When asked his son in the morning if he felt better after the exorcism, the boy responded, “No, there was a little boy at my window.” With this revelation, Hugh concluded that it was time to find a new residence, as their home seemed to be too haunted.

The bizarre series of events that happened to Brian Cox many years ago in Edinburgh will send shivers down your spine. On a 2023 episode of “The Jonathan Ross Show”, the actor described the incident, saying, “I was trying to fall asleep when suddenly I heard a rocking sound and my chair began moving towards my bed.” Although the chair eventually stopped, Brian was left terrified by the strange occurrence. He explained, “I hid under the covers because I thought, ‘This is truly terrifying.'” The star of “Succession” managed to get some rest but was shocked again the next day when he discovered that the chair had moved and the floor was marked with scratches.
