The anime adaptation of *Dandadan* has been a hit since it premiered, beautifully bringing Yukinobu Tatsu’s unique artwork and story to life. The adaptation by Science SARU is considered one of the best around, thanks to its striking animation, excellent pacing, voice acting, music, and how well it captures the feelings from the original manga. It first aired in Fall 2024, and a second season followed just six months later in Summer 2025. This quick turnaround is unusual, as most popular shows take a year or more to return with a new season.
The quick return of *Dandadan* was a great surprise! Not only did the new season arrive earlier than fans anticipated, but the episodes themselves were fantastic. The season finale leaves viewers with many unanswered questions, and while a third season has been confirmed, there’s currently no information about when it will be released. This is a change from after the first season, when the release window for Season 2 was announced immediately. This likely means fans will have to wait a while – perhaps a year or more – for the next season of *Dandadan*.
Dandadan Season 3 Is Going To Be the Best So Far
It’s understandable that Season 3 of *Dandadan* will take longer to produce. High-quality, big-budget series always require significant time from animation studios. Season 2 was released quickly because it was made at the same time as Season 1. Season 3 promises to be more complex and action-packed, so the studio will likely need extra time to deliver a great result. The second season finished with chapter 71, meaning the next season will adapt the remaining two chapters of the Kaiju Arc.
Following the Kaiju Arc, *Dandadan* will finally start its Space Globalists Arc, which has been hinted at since the Cursed House Arc. This arc is the longest in the series, making a full adaptation in just 12 episodes for Season 3 unlikely. It’s probable that Season 3 will be split into two parts, or that Seasons 3 and 4 will be released very close together, to avoid leaving fans on a cliffhanger during this crucial storyline.
Season three will finally answer the mysteries surrounding Vamola and her importance to the story. Meanwhile, as space terrorists plot to take over Earth, Momo and her friends encounter the most daunting challenge they’ve ever faced – a threat they seem powerless to stop. The manga hasn’t shown a danger of this magnitude before, and even a quick look at the source material suggests the anime adaptation will be incredibly demanding for the animation team.
