Danielle Jonas is sharing her health diagnosis.
Danielle Jonas, who has been married to Kevin Jonas for 16 years, recently shared that she has Lyme disease. She first realized something was off when she started losing her hair.
Danielle explained in an interview with *Parents* that doctors initially thought her symptoms were due to anxiety. However, a biopsy eventually revealed she had Lyme disease. She also had eczema on her scalp, likely caused by inflammation from the Lyme disease. Losing her hair was deeply upsetting, and she considered wearing a wig.
Danielle, who has been married to a Jonas Brother since 2009, shared that her symptoms made her feel self-conscious when she was with her husband in public.
Danielle, 39, explained that she needed to spend time with Kevin to reconnect with who she was.
Danielle didn’t specify when she was diagnosed with the bacterial infection, which is often spread through tick bites, but she did say her symptoms are now manageable.
Dealing with her own health issues helped the former star of *Married to Jonas* learn how to talk to her daughters, Alena, 11, and Valentina, 8, about their own challenges with body image and self-esteem.
She explained that her family had witnessed her own struggles, so when their children experience eczema flare-ups, she always tells them, ‘This won’t last forever.’
It’s been a bit challenging for Danielle to manage her tween daughter’s love of skincare, especially with some skin concerns. However, as a mom of two, she’s found a good balance with her oldest daughter’s current interest.
Oh my gosh, Danielle gets it! Alena, my queen, has such sensitive skin – it’s not just the eczema, she’s *always* had problems. So Danielle is super careful about keeping everything clean for her, which is amazing. But Alena, being the playful soul she is, wants to try all sorts of fun stuff, and it breaks my heart! Danielle’s so smart, though. She always asks Alena, ‘Do you want a breakout, or do you want clear skin?’ and it totally brings Alena back to reality. It’s just… a perfect mom protecting her precious girl!

She reassured her sister, Bella Garcia, saying they would get the issue resolved eventually. Lupita Nyong’o, known for her role in *12 Years a Slave*, received a diagnosis of uterine fibroids—non-cancerous growths in or around the uterus—in 2014, the same year she won an Academy Award for her performance in the film.
She didn’t share her diagnosis until 2025, when she revealed on Instagram that she had been privately struggling with it for over ten years.
She explained that many girls are taught to accept period pain as a normal part of being a woman. This often leaves them dealing with a common issue in silence and without support.
In July 2025, the actress from *Daisy Jones & The Six* revealed she’d been hospitalized for a hernia, which developed from wearing overly tight pants. A hernia is a gap in the abdominal or groin muscles.
Someone messaged Suki on X (formerly Twitter) saying, “You haven’t tweeted in a while!” Suki replied with a surprising explanation: she’d been afraid to mention she injured herself six months ago when she wore very tight pants, and it resulted in a hernia.
The former star of *Beverly Hills, 90210* shared in April 2025 that he was recovering from surgery to fix a nearly ruptured appendix.
Brian shared in an Instagram video that he recently experienced stomach pain which led him to the emergency room. He explained that his appendix had a hole in it – it hadn’t fully burst, but was very close to doing so.

“It’s been incredibly difficult,” Devine shared on the *In Depth With Graham Bensinger* podcast in 2025. “I experience spasms throughout my body, and doctors recently told me I was facing a life-threatening situation—within the last year, actually.”
He explained that his pain is intermittent, saying, “My body has a few quirks and isn’t quite working perfectly.”
A former contestant on The Bachelor went to the hospital because of severe back pain. He said he was in so much pain he had to crawl on his hands and knees, and the pain got worse during a road trip with a friend.
He described a strange tingling sensation that still lingered in his legs as of March 2025, sharing this on his *Trading Secrets* podcast. To illustrate the extent of the issue, he explained that just a few weeks prior, he’d been squatting nearly 300 pounds. Now, he couldn’t even manage a single squat or stand on one leg without falling, comparing the feeling to having had a stroke.
But with the help of a back specialist and some steroids, he added, “We’re on the mend.”

In February 2025, the former *Even Stevens* star revealed she was shot in the face during a birthday celebration for her husband, Brendan Rooney. They were on a clay pigeon shooting trip when the incident occurred.
According to her Instagram post, she was shot in the face when someone at another party fired a gun unsafely in the wrong direction. She said @thebrendanrooney quickly helped her and took her to the hospital. She was hit five times, and one bullet came dangerously close to her right eye – less than an inch away.
The former *Kim Possible* star shared that a small piece of something got stuck behind their eye. Doctors have advised against removing it with surgery right now, and they’ll be closely watching to see if anything changes. Thankfully, their vision is currently normal.
The actress expressed immense gratitude for surviving a frightening experience. She shared how much she loves her family and friends, saying she realized how precious life is. “Seeing my life pass before me made me understand that you should cherish every moment and hug the people you care about,” she explained. “Things can change so quickly.”
Amy Schumer is grateful for the internet, despite its often negative side, because it helped her discover a health issue. After noticing she looked “puffier” during interviews, she was surprised when doctors began commenting online, concerned she might have Cushing syndrome. They pointed out changes in her face and suggested high cortisol levels or steroid injections could be the cause. This prompted Amy to realize she *had* been receiving steroid injections following a breast reduction and C-section. She later learned she had developed Cushing syndrome as a result, something she wouldn’t have known about without the online comments. Amy is now relieved to know her condition is temporary and that she is otherwise healthy, calling the news “the greatest news imaginable.”
During a December 2024 game, an American Hockey League player suffered a skate cut that required 25 stitches. His father, New Jersey Devils General Manager Tom Fitzgerald, shared with ESPN after his son’s recovery, “We feel very fortunate. No parent should have to go through that.”
In March 2022, Hailey Bieber experienced a frightening health scare while having breakfast with her husband, Justin Bieber. She suddenly started having stroke-like symptoms, unable to speak and noticing her face drooping. Although the symptoms eventually passed, she went to the hospital for testing. Doctors discovered she had a small blood clot in her brain, which they identified as a TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack). Further investigation at UCLA revealed Hailey had a hole in her heart, called a patent foramen ovale (PFO). This hole allowed the blood clot to travel to her brain, causing the TIA. Hailey successfully underwent a procedure to close the PFO and is now recovering well.
The same year Hailey faced a health issue, Justin also experienced one. In June 2022, he revealed he had been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a condition that caused temporary paralysis on one side of his face. This forced him to cancel the rest of his Justice World Tour.
In a video posted to Instagram, Justin explained that the virus attacks nerves in the ear and face, preventing him from blinking, smiling, or moving his nostril on the affected side. He also shared that it became increasingly difficult for him to eat.
Fortunately, the paralysis eventually went away. Hailey shared on *Good Morning America* that Justin was recovering well, calling the situation scary but assuring everyone he would be completely fine and was grateful he was on the mend.
Jamie Foxx recently shared details about the health scare he experienced in April 2023, which he had initially kept private. In his 2024 Netflix special, *What Had Happened Was…*, he explained that he was suffering from a severe headache when he suddenly lost consciousness. He doesn’t remember the next 20 days.
Initially, a doctor gave him a cortisone shot and sent him home, but his sister, Deidra Dixon, was worried and took him to the hospital. Doctors discovered he’d had a brain bleed, which led to a stroke.
After surgery, Jamie woke up in a wheelchair on May 4th, unable to walk. He then went to Chicago for rehabilitation and therapy. He expressed his gratitude for the prayers he received, saying he needed every single one.
The reality TV star shared that she briefly stopped breathing while running a mile during the first challenge on the NBC show.
She shared on the show *Fit for TV: The Reality of The Biggest Loser* that her memory of the event was fragmented. She recalled hearing a helicopter, feeling like she was floating, and then seeing her grandfather. After that, everything went dark, but she then experienced a bright light, leading her to realize she had died that day.
She explained that her organs were failing. She hadn’t known she had rhabdomyolysis, a condition where the body essentially begins to shut down.
As someone who’s always advocated for prioritizing wellbeing, I want to share a deeply personal story about Emilia Clarke, the incredible actress you know from *Game of Thrones*. While filming the show, she actually battled a life-threatening health crisis. It started with a severe headache at the gym, which quickly escalated into something terrifying. She described collapsing and feeling an excruciating, stabbing pain, realizing something was seriously wrong with her brain.
It turned out she’d suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage – a type of stroke caused by bleeding around the brain – due to a ruptured aneurysm. She had immediate surgery, but recovery wasn’t easy. She experienced aphasia, struggling to find the right words and sometimes just muttering nonsense. Thankfully, that passed, and she was discharged after a month.
But the ordeal wasn’t over. A later scan revealed the aneurysm had grown, requiring a second, even more invasive surgery. This time, doctors had to access her brain directly through her skull. It was incredibly painful, and the procedure initially failed, leading to another massive bleed. Thankfully, they were able to operate again, and she made a full recovery. She’s now thankfully at 100%, and bravely shared her story to raise awareness about these conditions. It’s a powerful reminder that even those who seem incredibly strong can face hidden battles, and prioritizing your health is always essential.
Cori Broadus, Snoop Dogg’s daughter, is thankful for the support of her family. In January 2024, she suffered a stroke and her loved ones immediately came to her side. She told TopMob News that she simply texted her family with a picture and they all rushed to help.
Cori ended up staying in the hospital longer than expected due to other health issues. She explained that while she could have gone home after the stroke, her lupus was flaring up and her kidneys were failing.
Today, Cori is recovering well. She says she’s doing great and is regaining her motor skills, and is otherwise feeling fine.
Shailene Woodley struggled with significant health issues throughout her 20s. In a September 2024 podcast interview, she explained that she experienced hearing loss, extreme fatigue, and digestive problems, leading to a confusing array of diagnoses. Determined to find answers, Woodley combined traditional medical care with holistic and alternative therapies, drawing on her background in herbalism. This search for well-being lasted for ten years. The physical discomfort eventually led to emotional challenges, including fear of food and struggles with body image and identity. Thankfully, after a long journey of healing both her body and mind, Shailene is now healthy and feeling good.
