Here is an overview of the game, via its Steam page:
About
Okay, so I finally got my hands on MAMIYA: A Shared Illusion of the World’s End, and wow. This game is something else! One person, Kenkou Land, spent eight years making it all by themselves, which is insane! It’s a really atmospheric and dark adventure, but it’s not just spooky stuff – it deals with some seriously heavy and personal themes, like trauma. It’s a powerful experience, honestly.
MAMIYA: A Shared Illusion of the World’s End is a gripping visual novel that follows a group of young men as they grapple with feelings of hopelessness in the face of an impending apocalypse.
Story
Tokyo, during the year in which the world was prophesied to end.
As we clung to reality, too spineless to throw our lives away together, we met MAMIYA.
Everyone at our friend’s funeral was deeply saddened and crying, but we couldn’t help but feel that one person’s death wouldn’t really change things in the grand scheme of the world.
We woke up and started our usual routine, or at least, that was the plan.
Then MAMIYA appeared…
MAMIYA unexpectedly became a part of our everyday routines. Gradually, they became a source of comfort and support, and helped us start down a new direction in life.
A path that would surely lead us to our deaths…
