A popular dark fantasy anime from Shueisha’s Shonen Jump is returning in 2026 with a second season, and we now have a confirmed release date and a first look at what’s in store. As the Fall 2025 anime season comes to a close, fans are already looking ahead to the new shows coming next year. 2026 promises to be another big year for anime, kicking off in January with the Winter 2026 season.
The anime series Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku first aired in 2023, and fans have been eagerly awaiting its second season. Now, it’s confirmed to premiere in Japan on January 11th. To get everyone excited for the return, a new poster has been released, hinting at a thrilling new set of episodes.
What to Know for Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku Season 2

Season 2 of Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku will premiere in Japan on January 11th. Crunchyroll will be the exclusive streaming home for the new episodes as they air. Joining the voice cast this season are Ryota Suzuki as Yamada Asaemon Shugen, Koji Yusa as Yamada Asaemon Jikka, Maaya Uchida as Yamada Asaemon Kiyomaru, and Sayaka Ōhara as Yamada Asaemon Isuzu. Many of the people who worked on the first season will be returning for this one as well.
Kaori Makita is directing Season 2 of Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku, with Studio MAPPA animating and Twin Engine handling the planning. Akira Kindaichi is writing the scripts, Akitsugu Hisagi is returning as character designer, and Yoshiaki Dewa is composing the music. With a lot of anime releasing in Winter 2026, it’s important to prepare for this season so it doesn’t get overlooked, like the first season did – it truly deserves more recognition.
What’s Going on With Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku?

Like many recent anime from Shonen Jump, Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku finished its manga run on Shueisha’s Jump+ app in 2021. The anime’s popularity brought creator Yuji Kaku back for a short sequel, but he hasn’t started a new project since. With the second season coming up, Hell’s Paradise will be competing for attention alongside other popular Studio MAPPA shows like Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3, making its performance particularly interesting to watch.
2026 promises a fantastic year for anime, and the Winter season is already generating a lot of excitement with the return of popular series. With so many anticipated releases, fans will have a lot to choose from, and it will be interesting to see how everything unfolds.
