As fans await the final season of Stranger Things, David Harbour has signed on to a new role. He’ll be back as Jim Hopper in Stranger Things season 5, which will be released on Netflix in stages: the first four episodes on November 26th, another three on December 25th, and the concluding episodes on December 31st.
Deadline reports that Harbour will star in Evil Genius, a true crime thriller directed by Courteney Cox, known for her roles in Friends and Scream. The movie is based on the 2018 Netflix documentary Evil Genius: The True Story of America’s Most Diabolical Bank Heist, which details the bizarre story of the “pizza bomber” case. Read Cox’s comments about directing the film below.
I was immediately captivated by the documentary Evil Genius. It’s a truly bizarre story—almost unbelievable. It’s both darkly humorous and surprisingly moving, exploring themes of love, isolation, control, and how ordinary people can get caught up in extraordinary, dangerous situations.
Alongside Harbour, the cast of Evil Genius features Patricia Arquette and Michael Chernus, known from Severance, as well as Garret Dillahunt (Deadwood), Owen Teague (Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes), Ryan Eggold (The Blacklist), Danielle Macdonald (Lady Bird), Gregory Alan Williams (The Righteous Gemstones), Tom McCarthy (The Lowdown), and Harlow Jane (She Came to Me).
