Disney+ has given fans a taste of what they can expect from Rivals season 2 in a brand new trailer.
The upcoming season promises an exciting competition for the Central South West television franchise, and it will be released in two parts, each with six episodes.
The first group of episodes will be released starting May 15th, and more episodes will be available later this year.
The latest trailer offers a first glimpse of Lord Tony Baddingham (David Tennant) as he actively works to destroy the competition – Rupert Campbell-Black (Alex Hassell) and Declan O’Hara’s (Aidan Turner) company, Venturer. He declares, “We are ready to knock them out of the competition.”
Declan and Rupert aren’t giving up, and it looks like they’re preparing for another showdown with Tony.
As a big fan, I’m already hooked by the trailer! It looks like things are going to get really complicated for all the couples on the show, especially Freddie (Danny Dyer) and Lizzie (Katherine Parkinson). There are definitely some major surprises and unexpected developments coming their way, and I can’t wait to see what happens!

Season 2 will also bring back familiar actors like Bella Maclean, Victoria Smurfit, Claire Rushbrook, Oliver Chris, Lisa McGrillis, Emily Atack, Rufus Jones, Luke Pasqualino, Catriona Chandler, and Annabel Scholey.
The cast is growing! Rupert Everett will play Malise Gordon, the previous coach of Rupert’s character and Helen’s current husband. Joining the project are also Holly Cattle, Oliver Dench, Amanda Lawrence, Bobby Lockwood, Eliot Salt, Maxim Ays, and Jonny Weldon.
Dyer recently teased that season 2 is “so much better than the first”.
After winning the Best Comedy Performance award at the 2025 BAFTA Television Awards (sponsored by P&O Cruises) for his role in the Sky series Mr Bigstuff, he told reporters he was thrilled with how the show turned out. He praised the writers and producers, saying they “absolutely nailed it” and he’s excited for audiences to see it.
He added: “It’s a beautiful job for me [and] I love working with Katherine [Parkinson].”
You can now watch season 1 of Rivals on Disney+. Subscribe to Disney+ for just £4.99 a month or £79.90 for the year.
