The next iteration of Batman features a design element rarely seen on the character, helping to distinguish this version of Bruce Wayne. Batman is DC’s most recognizable hero, and many actors have portrayed him in movies and animated series. There are numerous future projects planned for Bruce Wayne and his adventures.
Robert Pattinson will reprise his role as Batman in The Batman 2. However, James Gunn is planning to cast a new actor to play Bruce Wayne for The Brave and the Bold movie within the DC Universe. On the animation side, Hamish Linklater will once again voice Batman in season 2 of Batman: Caped Crusader, and a four-part adaptation of Knightfall is also planned. Before these projects, fans can expect a uniquely styled animated Batman series in 2025.
DC Has Revealed What Bat-Fam’s Batman Looks Like
Batman’s upcoming series, Bat-Fam, is a spin-off of the 2023 animated movie Merry Little Batman. The show follows Damian Wayne, known as Little Batman in the film, and explores the adventures of the entire Bat-Family, with Bruce Wayne playing a significant part.
In the new animated series, Batman leads a team known as the Bat-Family. Now that the trailer is released, we’ve seen his new look. He’ll be wearing a black and grey suit with short ears, a long cape, and a yellow utility belt. The suit also features a yellow oval with the bat symbol on his chest, and notably, Batman sports a full beard.
How Bat-Fam’s Batman Compares To Other Versions Of Bruce Wayne?
Batman has appeared in many different forms – from live-action movies and TV shows to animated projects – and his appearance has changed a lot over time. The yellow oval on his chest in the Bat-Fam series could bring to mind the costumes worn by actors like Adam West, Michael Keaton, and Val Kilmer when they played Batman.
The Batman’s ear shape in the animated series is reminiscent of versions played by Ben Affleck and George Clooney. However, the most striking difference in this new design is Batman’s full beard. While actors like Ben Affleck (in DC movies), Michael Keaton (in The Flash), and Christian Bale (in The Dark Knight trilogy) have sported beards as Bruce Wayne at times, this Batman consistently has one.
Interestingly, these changes don’t carry over when Bruce Wayne becomes Batman. We see him with a cowl that exposes his chin, and sometimes even sporting a full beard while in the suit – a look that sets this Batman apart from previous versions. This design choice also supports the storyline, visually portraying Bruce Wayne as more of a father figure within the Batman family.
