DC Officially Confirms The Joker’s Design For Batman’s Next Appearance

As a huge Batman fan, I’m so excited to hear that the Joker will be in the next movie! DC has finally given us a first look at what he’ll look like, and it’s awesome. James Gunn is really building something special with Batman in the new DCU, and they’re taking their time with ‘The Brave and the Bold’ to get the script perfect. Luckily, it sounds like we’ll be getting other Batman projects too, which is fantastic news!

Before the new DC Universe Batman movie arrives, fans have several Batman-related projects to look forward to. This includes a sequel to The Batman, a spin-off focusing on the villain Clayface (coming in 2026), and additional animated content. In 2025, a new DC project will explore a significant aspect of Batman’s history, and The Joker will also be featured.

DC Has Revealed What Bat-Fam’s Joker Looks Like

Although The Batman 2 has been pushed back from its planned 2025 release, fans haven’t been without Batman this year. The R-rated animated film Aztec Batman: Clash of Empires was released recently. And now, while waiting for the next live-action movie, fans can enjoy a new animated series called Bat-Fam, which will be available on Prime Video starting November 10th.

This 10-part series offers a fresh look at the Bat-Family, including well-known characters like Bruce and Damian Wayne, alongside villains such as Ra’s al Ghul and Man-Bat. Although the Joker won’t be a core member of the Bat-Family team, a recent trailer revealed he will appear in Batman’s next DC series adventure.

It’s not surprising that David Hornsby, who voiced the Joker in Merry Little Batman, is reprising the role as the movie expands the Bat-Family universe. The Joker’s new design is very similar to his appearance in the animated film – a purple suit with yellow sleeves and distinctively sharp shoulders. This gives the character a particularly unsettling, stretched-out look.

How Bat-Fam’s Joker Compares To Other Versions Of The Batman Villain?

The Joker’s latest incarnation in DC animation stays true to his iconic look – green hair, pale skin, and red lips. However, this version stands out with a deliberately exaggerated, cartoonish design, especially in his wide grin and overall proportions.

The new film, Bat-Fam, appears to have removed the hat that the Joker wore in Merry Little Batman. That hat was a reference to his iconic appearance in the classic DC Comics story, Batman: The Killing Joke. I think this new design for the Joker is a good fit for Bat-Fam because it suits the film’s comedic tone.
