In simpler terms, the opening episode of “Peacemaker” Season 2 was released on HBO Max on August 21st. The episode began with a quick recap of events from the previous season of “Peacomaker”, which is known as the DC Universe (DCU). A part of this recap, which was confirmed by DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn, will be changed because the first season originally belonged to the DC Extended Universe.
Previously, the story concluded with John Cena’s character, Peacemaker, carrying Jennifer Holland’s character, Emilia Harcourt, away from the final battle. Earlier on, Team Peacemaker had crossed paths with the Justice League, which included Ezra Miller as The Flash, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, and silhouettes of Henry Cavill as Superman and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman.
In the second season of “Peacemaker”, a scene was reworked to depict Christopher Smith passing by the newly-established Justice Gang, who made their debut in the 2025 version of “Superman”. This particular shot also features David Corenswet’s portrayal of Superman and Milly Alcock as Supergirl, marking her first flight appearance within the DCU.
On the left side of this image, you can see Edi Gathegi as Mr. Terrific, effortlessly hovering above ground thanks to his T-spheres. This is actually his second notable role within the latest DC Universe, although it’s just a brief appearance following a significant supporting part in the July Superman.
Starting from August 21st, the second season of “Peacemaker” resumes, featuring its leading character once more on television following his brief appearance in “Superman“. The stellar cast includes John Cena, Frank Grillo, Jennifer Holland, Steve Agee, and Danielle Brooks. In this new installment, we find Christopher Smith post-defeating the Butterflies. When Will Mr. Terrific Return to the DCU?
