Kojima Productions is expanding the world of Death Stranding with multiple projects. They’re currently developing both a live-action movie and an animated film, and have now announced an entirely new anime series as well.
Currently known as Death Stranding Isolations, the series will be available to stream on Disney+ starting in 2027.
Hideo Kojima is the executive producer of the series and revealed the anime at a Disney+ event in Hong Kong.
Death Stranding: Isolations will feature a brand new story, completely independent from the video games, and will be animated by E&H Production.
Not much is known about the series yet, but it appears the story will focus on the two characters shown in the image.
Across North America, while Sam Bridges journeys to reconnect a fractured America, others struggle with isolation in their own ways. One man seeks redemption outside of Bridges’ connected world, a fierce woman aims to rebuild society through endless conflict, a young boy harbors resentment towards Bridges, and a girl finds solace in solitude. As humanity faces extinction, their paths collide, marking the start of a new story within the world of Death Stranding.
Keep in mind this is planned for 2027, so it will be some time before we see more details. What are you hoping for with Death Stranding Isolations? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
