Delilah Belle Hamlin is sharing her health struggles and recovery process.
The model recently had surgery for endometriosis, a condition she’d been quietly struggling with for years. It took a long time to get a diagnosis.
During the December 9th episode of the She MD podcast, a 27-year-old woman explained she suffered from very painful periods. She also shared that despite seeing multiple gynecologists, no one ever suggested she might have endometriosis.
Delilah, the daughter of Lisa Rinna and Harry Hamlin, always assumed her bloating, painful cramps, and acne were typical growing pains. She’d thought about the possibility of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), but never considered endometriosis—a condition where uterine-like tissue grows outside the uterus—until someone famous spoke openly about it.
Delilah said she first learned about PMDD when Halsey mentioned it on Instagram a few years ago. She didn’t think much of it at the time, as she was focused on other conditions like PCOS that her gynecologist had discussed. However, her severe cramps eventually led to a diagnosis of PMDD (Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder).
She added, “In high school I remember my cramps would be so bad, I would be taken out of school.”
Delilah didn’t just have painful periods; she also began having seizures, which signaled a serious problem with her reproductive health.
She explained that she used to have seizures more often around the time of her period. These episodes would begin with a feeling of intense heat, followed by convulsions.

Before getting sober in 2021, Delilah struggled with substance and alcohol abuse, which was made worse by dealing with hidden pain and the challenges of everyday life.
She explained that she stopped drinking primarily because she began having seizures. She also admitted to struggling with substance abuse, which she connected to her depression and anxiety – particularly severe panic attacks. However, she feels that no one has yet identified the underlying causes of these issues.
Oh my gosh, you guys, I was SO relieved to hear that Delilah finally had her endometriosis surgery in August! Apparently, it was exactly what she needed – they removed all those awful implants, and it’s completely changed her life! She hasn’t had any seizures since, and she just seems… happier, healthier, everything! It’s amazing to see her doing so much better, honestly. I’m just so happy for her!
She expressed relief that the problem could be solved. While thankful for the help, she also noted that it required significant independent effort.

Lupita Nyong’o, known for her role in 12 Years a Slave, received a diagnosis of uterine fibroids—non-cancerous growths in or around the uterus—in 2014, the same year she won an Academy Award for her performance in the film.
She didn’t reveal her diagnosis until 2025, when she shared on Instagram that she had been privately struggling with it for over ten years.
She explained that many girls are taught to accept period pain as a normal part of being a woman. This often leaves them dealing with a common issue in silence and feeling isolated.

In July 2025, the actress from Daisy Jones & The Six revealed she was hospitalized for a hernia. This happened because she had been wearing pants that were too tight, causing a gap to form in her abdominal muscles.
Someone messaged Suki on X (formerly Twitter) asking why she hadn’t posted recently. Suki jokingly replied that she’d been hiding a serious injury – a hernia caused by wearing extremely tight pants six months ago – and was afraid to mention it.

The former star of Beverly Hills, 90210 shared in April 2025 that he was recovering from surgery to repair a nearly ruptured appendix.

He added, “I’m on the road to recovery. It’s not an easy process. This is my first major surgery.”

Now, he can’t even do a squat, struggles with single-leg squats, and often falls over. He compared the feeling to having a stroke.
But with the help of a back specialist and some steroids, he added, “We’re on the mend.”

In an Instagram post, she explained that she was accidentally shot in the face by someone at a party who fired a weapon unsafely. Thankfully, @thebrendanrooney quickly helped her, evaluating her injuries and getting her to the hospital. She was hit five times, and one bullet came dangerously close to her right eye – less than an inch away.
Oh my gosh, you guys, I’m freaking out a little! Apparently, a tiny piece of something got stuck behind my eye – can you even imagine?! The doctors said it’s way too dangerous to try and take it out with surgery right now, so they’re just going to keep a close watch on me. Luckily, I can still see perfectly fine, which is a huge relief, but still… behind my eye! It’s just… so Kim Possible of him to get into this kind of trouble, honestly. I’m just hoping everything stays okay.
The actress expressed immense gratitude for surviving a frightening experience. She shared how much she loves her family and friends, saying she realized how precious life is. “Seeing my life pass before me made me realize how important it is to cherish the people you care about and hug them whenever you can, because things can change so quickly,” she explained.

While the internet isn’t always a kind place, Amy Schumer is happy that, in this case, it helped her get answers.
“The internet really came for me after doing a bunch of press, and I was like, ‘OK everybody, relax,'” Amy recalled of her “puffier” face on a January 2025 episode of Call Her Daddy. “But then doctors were chiming in in the comments and they were like, ‘No no, we think something’s really up. Your face looks so crazy that we think something’s up. And I’m like, ‘Wait, I’m getting trolled by doctors?’”
After these doctors said they thought she had Cushing syndrome and that it may be caused by spiking coritsol levels or steroid injections, the Life & Beth creator thought, “Wait, I have been getting steroid injections in my scars.”
“I had a breast reduction, a C-section, whatever, and so I was getting these steroid injections,” Amy said. “So it gave me this thing called Cushing syndrome, which I wouldn’t have known if the internet hadn’t come for me so hard.”
Toda, Amy is just relieved she’s OK. As she shared in a February 2024 News Not Noise newsletter, “Finding out I have the kind of Cushing that will just work itself out and I’m healthy was the greatest news imaginable.”

In December 2024, an AHL player suffered a skate cut during a game and needed 25 stitches to close the wound. After his son made a full recovery, New Jersey Devils General Manager Tom Fitzgerald shared with ESPN how relieved they were, saying, “We feel very lucky, and no parent should ever have to go through that.”

Let me share something pretty personal with you. Last year, I had a really frightening experience while having breakfast with Justin. I suddenly couldn’t speak, and the right side of my face started to droop. It was incredibly scary! Thankfully, it passed, but we immediately went to the hospital to get checked out. Doctors discovered I’d had a small blood clot travel to my brain, which they identified as a TIA, or a transient ischemic attack. Further testing at UCLA revealed I have a small hole in my heart called a patent foramen ovale (PFO). Basically, the clot had moved through that hole and caused the TIA. I recently had a procedure to close the PFO, and I’m so happy to say I’m feeling fantastic now. It was a wake-up call, and I’m grateful everything turned out okay and I’m now doing much better.

The same year Hailey faced a health issue, Justin also experienced one. In June 2022, he revealed he had been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which caused temporary paralysis on one side of his face. This forced him to cancel the remaining dates of his Justice World Tour.
In a video posted to Instagram, Justin explained the condition affected the nerves in his ear and face, preventing him from blinking, smiling, or moving his nostril on the affected side. He also shared that it had become increasingly difficult to eat.
Fortunately, the paralysis eventually went away. Hailey shared on Good Morning America that Justin was recovering well, adding that while the situation was frightening and unexpected, he was going to be okay and she was thankful he was fine.

Jamie Foxx recently shared details about the serious health scare he experienced in April 2023, which he had initially kept private. In his 2024 Netflix special, What Had Happened Was…, he explained that he was suffering from a severe headache when he suddenly lost consciousness. He doesn’t remember the next twenty days.
Initially, a doctor gave him a cortisone shot and sent him home, but his sister, Deidra Dixon, noticed he wasn’t well and took him to the hospital. Doctors discovered he’d suffered a brain bleed that led to a stroke.
After surgery, Jamie woke up in a wheelchair on May 4th, unable to walk. He then traveled to Chicago for extensive rehabilitation and therapy. He expressed deep gratitude for the prayers he received, saying he needed them all.

Oh my god, you will NOT believe this! She actually said she died while running the first challenge on the show! Like, literally said she ‘died’! I was watching and nearly fainted myself! Can you imagine? She just casually dropped that she’d, like, completely crashed during a mile run on the NBC competition. I’m obsessed, this is insane!
She shared on the show Fit for TV: The Reality of The Biggest Loser that her memory of the event was fragmented. She recalled hearing a helicopter, feeling like she was floating, and then seeing her grandfather. After that, everything went dark, but she then saw light, which led her to realize she had died that day.
She explained that her organs were failing. She hadn’t known she had rhabdomyolysis, a condition where the body essentially starts to shut down.

As a huge fan of Emilia Clarke, I was completely floored when I read her essay detailing her health battles. It turns out, while filming Game of Thrones, she was secretly fighting for her life. She described a terrifying experience at the gym where she suddenly collapsed with an excruciating headache and became violently ill. She knew something was seriously wrong – she felt her brain was damaged.
It turned out she’d suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage, a life-threatening stroke caused by a ruptured aneurysm. She had immediate surgery, but the pain was unimaginable. During her recovery, she even struggled with aphasia, finding herself unable to speak properly. Thankfully, that passed, and she was able to leave the hospital after a month.
But the ordeal wasn’t over. A scan in 2013 revealed the aneurysm had grown, requiring a second, even more dangerous surgery. She described waking up screaming in pain after the procedure, and learning it hadn’t worked – she was bleeding badly and her life was at risk. This time, the doctors had to perform a traditional craniotomy – opening her skull to access her brain.
It’s incredible to hear that, despite everything, Emilia is now fully recovered and at 100%. Her bravery in sharing her story is truly inspiring.

Cori Broadus, Snoop Dogg’s daughter, recently expressed her thankfulness for her family’s support. In January 2024, she suffered a stroke and immediately reached out to her loved ones, who quickly came to her aid. She shared with TopMob News’ Will Marfuggi in December 2024 that they all rushed to be with her.
Cori’s hospital stay ended up being longer than expected due to other health issues. While she could have gone home after the stroke, she was also dealing with complications from lupus and kidney problems.
Fortunately, Cori is now recovering well. She says she’s doing great and has been working to regain some motor skills, but is otherwise feeling fine.

Shailene Woodley struggled with significant health issues throughout her 20s. In a September 2024 podcast interview, she revealed she experienced hearing loss, extreme fatigue – unable to walk for more than five minutes without needing hours of rest – and persistent stomach pain. She faced conflicting diagnoses from various doctors. Determined to find answers, Woodley, who comes from a holistic health background and studies herbalism, sought help from both traditional doctors and alternative healers. This search for well-being lasted for a decade. The physical discomfort led to anxiety around food and ultimately, issues with body image and identity. Woodley described a confusing and challenging period of self-discovery. Fortunately, after years of focusing on both her physical and mental health, she has fully recovered and is now feeling very healthy and happy.
