As an anime enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle – Part 1: Akaza Returns” is making waves at the Japanese box office! Just ten days into its cinema run, it’s broken records by selling over 9 million tickets and earning a staggering 12 billion yen. That’s faster than any other film to hit that milestone in Japan, even surpassing its predecessor, “Demon Slayer: Mugen Train.”
Globally, “Infinity Castle” has now grossed over 17 billion yen, which is roughly $120 million USD. In Japan alone, it’s already the highest-grossing film of 2025 and could potentially surpass “Mugen Train” as the country’s all-time highest-grossing film! It’s a testament to the enduring popularity of Demon Slayer and a remarkable achievement for the anime industry.
To honor the triumph of “Infinity Castle” and express gratitude to the enthusiastic fanbase, Ufotable Studio – responsible for the animation of “Demon Slayer,” has been giving away free merchandise to cinema-goers. Starting from August 2nd, movie theaters started distributing novel A5-sized art stands inspired by one of the posters. These limited edition art stands are only available to approximately 3 million people across the country on a first-come, first-served basis. On August 4th, Ufotable announced a special collector’s item that fans can acquire by watching a screening of “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle – Part 1: Akaza Returns.
New Clear Cards Gifts Will be Handed Out to Demon Slayer Fans
At the theater screening of “Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Edition,” a new welcome gift has been decided for attendees. For a limited time from August 9th (Sat) to August 22nd (Wed), they will distribute special clear cards in limited quantities across Japan. #DemonSlayer #InfinityCastleEdition

Starting soon, Japanese movie theaters will distribute another batch of free “Demon Slayer” character cards, similar to those given away when the film premiered on July 18th. The initial set showcased character posters and were handed out in cinemas. This new collection focuses on duos or groups from the Demon Slayer Corps, with a total of six cards available. As with previous promotions, these freebies will be limited to 4 million people across Japan and issued on a first-come, first-served basis. Each person can claim only one card, and their design will be selected at random; you won’t have the option to pick your preferred design.
Starting this coming Saturday, August 9th, and continuing until Friday, August 22nd, the cards will be distributed to people. At present, these specific cards are only available in Japan. Nevertheless, international screenings may occasionally receive some of the Japanese merchandise as giveaways for fans. To illustrate, during the North American screenings of “Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning,” film-exclusive Digimon cards were given to spectators. In a similar vein, it’s plausible that Ufotable or Crunchyroll, who are responsible for international distribution, might distribute one of the Japanese exclusive gifts to overseas fans for the upcoming “Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle” release.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle (Part 1): Akaza’s Return had its premiere in Japan on July 18, 2025. The movie is gradually being released internationally, starting with Asia in August. Most English-speaking regions, including North American and European countries, will catch the film in September. In the United States and Canada, the cinema release of the movie will be on September 12th, and ticket sales begin on August 15th.
