As the conclusion to the Demon Slayer anime adaptation approaches, marked by the premiere of the film Infinity Fortress, we had high expectations from our review that viewers would be satisfied. However, the actor who portrays Tanjiro, the main character, has hinted that audiences are in store for some deeply emotional moments.
Anticipating the launch of Infinity Castle on September 12, we had a chat with Zach Aguilar, the voice behind Tanjiro Kamado, and Johnny Yong Bosch, who voices Giyu.

After seeing the movie for ourselves for the first time, we had some important questions to pose to the well-known voice actors, as they embark on the Demon Slayer Corps’s climactic battle against Muzan Kibutsuji and his superior demon minions within the Demon Castle, following the conclusion of season 4.
When inquiring about their thoughts regarding both the conclusion of the movie and its upcoming sequel since the Infinity Castle series is a trilogy, with the release date for the next instalment still unknown Aguilar found himself contemplating these specific moments in this role they’ve played over time, including the 2021 English version of the hugely successful Mugen Train film.
The battle against Akaza is remarkably thrilling, a sentiment that he himself acknowledges. It certainly brings about some intense and emotionally charged scenes.
In the initial film’s teaser, there are indications of additional conflicts unfolding. One such instance involves Zenitsu and Shinobu engaged in a battle. However, the highlight among these encounters is undoubtedly Akaza reuniting with Tanjiro, followed by the events that ensue.
Following this event, Infinity Castle is the place where Akaza encounters Demon Slayers for the first time since the death of Rengoku in Mugen Train. Interestingly, Tanjiro, who has been grieving the loss of his friend, finds himself among the initial ones to cross paths with Akaza. Alongside him is Giyu, under Bosch’s guidance.
For movie enthusiasts eagerly anticipating the sequel, there’s no denying the intensity of emotions in store.
Despite the challenges posed by the increased tension at Infinity Castle, the actor portraying our beloved Sun Breathing character has been putting in extraordinary effort, as evident in his performance – so much so that it seems to have affected his vocal delivery in this part of the Demon Slayer narrative.
Additionally, not only the voice actors have raised the bar higher, but also the visual quality of Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle has significantly improved due to the increased effort from Ufotable, the long-standing animation studio behind the franchise.
In simpler terms, the past seasons of the anime were so impressive they took the top spot on our ‘best anime’ list due to their cinematic-quality production. However, the new movie surpassed them by featuring even better visuals and stunning special effects.
Looking forward to reprising the role of Giyu once more, as the Water Hashira hasn’t taken center stage for quite some time, Johnny Yong Bosh was equally amazed by Ufotable’s persistent dedication.
I’m happy to play Giyu again because he hasn’t been a main character in a while, but I’m also really impressed with how much Ufotable keeps working hard.
“I feel like each time, they’ve raised the bar again, you know?” said Bosch.
Indeed, while I’m engaged in the process of working on this animation, I often find myself so captivated by its beauty that I forget I’m supposed to be working! The animation is simply mesmerizing and draws me in. I have no doubt they will continue to improve, and it’s an amazing experience to be a part of such a growing endeavor.
