I’ve been watching the buzz around Demon Slayer after the huge success of Infinity Castle, and everyone is really looking forward to the next movie – it’s supposed to be a trilogy. It’s clear Demon Slayer has become one of the biggest anime ever, and I think it’s only going to get more popular, especially since the anime hasn’t even covered all the best battles from the manga yet. It’s a little sad, though, because we won’t be seeing Tengen Uzui fight anymore. He retired from the Demon Slayer Corps after his incredible battle with Upper Moon Six. He was seriously injured – he lost his left hand and suffered permanent damage to his left eye.
Tengen hasn’t fought any demons recently, but he’s still been part of the story. To celebrate his birthday on October 31st, the anime’s official website released a cute, miniature illustration of him. In keeping with the current style, Tengen is shown wearing light-colored clothing and carrying a small bouquet. A large, colorful flower arrangement behind him stands out against his simple outfit. The studio is also using this birthday artwork to promote Tengen-themed merchandise on their official X (formerly Twitter) account.
Will Tengen Uzui Appear in Demon Slayer’s Anime Again?

Tengen Uzui is no longer actively fighting demons, but he remains connected to the Demon Slayer Corps. Even though he’s retired as a Hashira, he helped train new Demon Slayers. He led the first part of their training, which focused on building stamina and endurance through intense running. Slayers couldn’t progress until Tengen approved their performance. The training arc also showed that Tengen still feels sad about being unable to fight.
At the very least, he’s now living a quiet life with his wife after nearly dying in his battle with Gyutaro. During the final fight against the demons, everyone in the Corps was sent into the Infinity Castle. Nezuko, who Muzan Kibutsuji wanted most, was hidden away, with Sakonji Urokodaki assigned to protect her. As a last resort, if the entire Corps was defeated and Muzan discovered Nezuko, Urokodaki was ordered to end her life.
Meanwhile, Tengen and Shinjuro Rengoku, a retired Hashira, were protecting the Butterfly Mansion to keep demons away from Nezuko and the remaining Ubuyashiki family members. Fortunately, the demons didn’t manage to attack. While Tengen will reappear in the anime, his part will be brief because he didn’t get to fight after the Entertainment District Arc.
