Kemco has revealed a trailer, along with initial details and screenshots, for their upcoming visual novel, *Depth Loop*, a game centered around werewolves.
Here are the details, via the game’s Steam page:
About
After a devastating pandemic nearly wiped out humankind, the last survivors are living in an underwater facility. But when a werewolf sneaks aboard, the scientists working there find themselves caught in a dangerous web of mistrust. Can you solve the mystery of Depth Loop and save what’s left of humanity?
We’re making a game inspired by the world of “Depth,” which comes from the popular live-action role-playing game *Werewolf: The Playing Theater* (TLPT). TLPT is known for its exciting and immersive shows.
Jiro Ishii, the creator of popular games like *428: Shibuya Scramble*, is leading the planning and overseeing the entire project.
Pushed to the brink of extinction by a pandemic, humanity’s last hope lies in a deep-sea facility.
When a werewolf sneaks onto the team, the smart scientists suddenly find themselves in a dangerous situation, unsure of who they can trust.
Can you unravel the mystery of Depth Loop and secure humanity’s future?
As a player, join the Werewolf game!
Okay, so this game is seriously cool. It’s like a visual novel – you really get drawn into the story and characters – but it also has this awesome Werewolf-style game built in. You play through the story again and again, making different choices each time, almost like a loop, until you finally unlock the true ending. It’s a really clever mix of narrative and strategy!
You can lose yourself in the game for over 30 hours of playtime and truly experience everything it has to offer.
Game Flow
Okay, so the game is awesome! You play alongside twelve incredibly smart researchers who come from all over the globe. But it’s not just humans – there are also werewolves, mermaids, and a powerful commander character involved. It’s a really unique mix!
Following the commander’s orders, you’re sent to the underwater research facility, Mag Mell. There, you’ll play a game of Werewolf with the scientists to solve the facility’s secrets.
I’m totally hooked on how the Werewolf game unfolds! It’s not just about winning or losing; with every round, we learn more about what happened to the characters and the mysteries surrounding this place called “Mag Mell.” It’s like the story *develops* based on how we play, slowly peeling back the layers of their history and the secrets of the world.
The game *Depth Loop* is scheduled to be released in Japan in 2026 for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC (via Steam).
