SHUEISHA GAMES and developer Koeda have announced two new characters for their roguelite puzzle game, ANTHEM#9. Players can now choose to play as Phannie, the Gambler, or Beni, the Hero, each offering a unique way to experience the game.
The game *ANTHEM#9* was revealed with a new trailer at Indie Fan Fest and will also be featured in Steam Next Fest this October. A demo will be available online from October 10th to October 31st, 2025, letting fans play the game early. Those who join the official Discord server can get demo access even sooner.
Meet the New Fighters
- Phannie, the Gambler – A daring gunman who thrives on risk. By splitting double gems, he builds massive combo potential. His high-risk, high-reward style can unleash devastating damage.
- Beni, the Hero – A martial artist driven by justice. She converts gems into shields, healing, and powerful buffs. Her playstyle focuses on stacking enhancements for overwhelming strikes and strong defenses.
About the Game
In ANTHEM#9, you’ll play a roguelite game where you match colorful gems – red, green, and blue – to use special abilities and create powerful combos. As you explore randomly generated dungeons, you’ll collect new skills and blessings to build a unique deck for every attempt. The bigger the combo you create, the better the rewards you’ll receive!
About the Developer
I’m so excited about *ANTHEM#9*! It’s the first game made by Koeda, who actually taught himself how to develop games starting in 2021. And get this – it just won the Grand Prize at the Shueisha Game Creators Camp Game BBQ vol.2! It’s amazing to see someone self-taught achieve so much.
