Derek Hough Reveals His Dream Dancing with the Stars Celebrity Partner

Derek Hough won’t let this aspirational waltz go.

While chatting with Kristen Bell and Adam Brody on October 20th, the Dancing with the Stars judge shared who he’d most like to dance with—and his surprising answer completely stunned them.

Derek, 40, was candid with his Nobody Wants This co-stars during an Extra interview, telling Kristen she’s been his favorite for some time now.

Kristen Bell, 45, was visibly surprised when she revealed why she wouldn’t be a good partner on Dancing with the Stars. She shares two daughters, 11-year-old Lincoln and 10-year-old Delta, with her husband, Dax Shepard, and had a funny explanation for her lack of dancing skills.

Kristen playfully nudged Derek, covering her face and saying, “I’m so clumsy! I trip over everything, even when I’m just walking.”

Adam, 45, playfully asked Derek if he thought it would be an easy competition or if he’d prefer to dance with a more skilled partner. Adam reminded him that he last won the Mirrorball Trophy in 2015 with Bindi Irwin, before becoming a permanent judge on the show five years later.

Trying to put a positive spin on his wife Hayley Erbert’s dance moves (she’s currently pregnant with their first child), the dancer explained he could essentially pose her like a mannequin to help them get a good score from the judges.

“Is this really happening?” he asked the Frozen actress. She responded that she might be up for it, but would need a lot of practice. Derek, happy to hear her enthusiasm, said, “Great! We can work hard and help you go from barely able to do it to being a pro.”

As the pair work on their dance connection, Dancing with the Stars keeps surprising audiences. The latest shock came when Scott Hoying and his professional partner Rylee Arnold were eliminated during Wicked Night on October 21st. Even though they didn’t make it to the top three, they’ll always treasure their time together.

Pentatonix member Mitch Grassi, 34, described his experience on the show as ‘everything,’ expressing deep gratitude. He shared, ‘Rylee is my favorite person ever, and I had so much fun learning with them.’ Rylee, 20, agreed, praising Mitch’s commitment and hard work as a dance partner.

She told Scott how proud she was of him, praising his performance throughout the season. She added that he was a wonderful partner and that she loved him.
