Deus Ex Remastered Delayed Indefinitely Following Fan Backlash

The release of Deus Ex Remastered for PS5, originally planned for February 5, 2026, has been delayed indefinitely, according to publisher and developer Aspyr.

The game’s return was revealed in September during a State of Play event, and a short gameplay trailer showed off its significantly updated graphics.

When the art style changed, many fans of the original Deus Ex – a beloved and iconic cyberpunk game – were immediately worried.

People had strong reactions to the game’s remaster. Some felt it lost the original’s unique feel, while others thought the new graphics were simply unattractive, even worse than the visuals from the original game released decades ago.

Aspyr was listening to all of this feedback, at least.

After hearing your feedback, we’ve decided to delay the release of Deus Ex Remastered. We want to make sure the game lives up to expectations and provides the best experience for players, so it will no longer be launching on February 5, 2026, as previously announced.

Since a new date hasn’t been announced, everyone who pre-ordered will receive a full refund.

So, it looks like Aspyr is hitting the reset button on this project. Their latest announcement basically said they’ll let us know when they have something new to show, which means they’re going back to work on it from scratch, it seems.

Were you excited about the remastered version of Deus Ex? Or do you think this was a good decision? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
