Fans hoping for news about Devil May Cry 6 are feeling discouraged. It’s been seven years since Devil May Cry 5 came out, and we still haven’t heard anything about the next game. Even though Devil May Cry 5 was a critical and commercial success, a sequel hasn’t been announced. While this might be frustrating, it’s not entirely unexpected – there was an eleven-year gap between Devil May Cry 4 and Devil May Cry 5. Despite being accustomed to waiting for Capcom games, fans are understandably eager for an update.
For the past few weeks, rumors have been circulating that Devil May Cry 6 will be announced at today’s PlayStation State of Play. These rumors gained traction when Brian Hanford, the actor who played V in Devil May Cry 5, posted a mysterious message on X (formerly Twitter). While fans quickly speculated, Hanford later clarified that the post was meaningless and he has no inside information about a new game.
NDA or the Truth About Devil May Cry 6
The actor posted a message saying they had no inside information. They explained they were just as surprised and intrigued by the rumors and tweets as everyone else.

It’s possible someone is trying to retract a statement due to a non-disclosure agreement, but there’s no good reason to think this is a conspiracy. Actors sometimes accidentally reveal confidential information during unscripted moments, like interviews, and that happens. However, it’s unusual for an actor to intentionally post something on social media that violates an NDA. Also, this actor, Hanford, doesn’t play a major, recurring role, so it’s logical he wouldn’t be privy to details about the game or even be involved in it. Alternatively, this could mean work on the next game hasn’t started, or hasn’t reached the stage where voice actors are needed, especially if a character introduced in the last game is expected to return.
Right now, we’re only guessing about this. We might get some answers later today during the PlayStation State of Play. In the meantime, please share your thoughts in the comments or join the discussion on the ComicBook Forum.
