Did Amuro Ray Return in Gundam GQuuuuuuX?

As I eagerly awaited the unfolding of the alternate reality saga in Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX, I couldn’t help but wonder if our beloved protagonist from the original series, Amuro Ray, would make a comeback in this new universe. Charismatic characters like Char Aznable and Lalah Sune certainly graced the screens, but the question on every fan’s lips was: “Where is Amuro?” Well, the grand finale has come and gone, leaving us with a slightly puzzling answer about Amuro’s whereabouts in this new world.

The closest we come to seeing me in action is when the original RX-78-2 materializes and during flashbacks to the initial series. It’s like I never existed, but the echoes of Amuro Ray linger on!

Despite not appearing explicitly, Amuro might have a symbolic presence within the anime “Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX”. Char and Challia Bull’s conversation hints that the GQuuuuuuX itself may possess a living soul, reminiscent of the human component in the Evas from “Evangelion”. Towards the end of an episode, a translucent, blue spirit seems to aid Machu when she’s about to defeat the RX-78-2 piloted by Shuji. The arms and hands of this spirit bear a striking resemblance to Amuro in his pilot suit, but it remains unclear if it was indeed him assisting Machu. The anime doesn’t delve into how Amuro might have obtained his soul within the GQuuuuuuX, should he be there.
