The endless argument over whether Die Hard is a Christmas movie seems to be dying down. While the film isn’t about Christmas, neither is Home Alone. Christmas is essential to the story—John McClane wouldn’t have been at the Nakatomi Plaza if he wasn’t trying to spend Christmas Eve with his kids. Ultimately, it’s a Christmas movie if you choose to see it that way, and this year, it’s easier to watch than ever before.
Unlike most movies that appear on just a couple of streaming services, Die Hard is available in several places right now. You can watch it on Hulu (and Disney+, since Hulu is part of Disney+), as well as on Prime Video. It’s also available for free on the Roku Channel, though you’ll need a Roku device to easily access it.
As a huge movie fan, I was thrilled to see Die Hard pop up on Peacock at the beginning of December! It’s actually now on four different major streaming services at the same time, which is amazing. Seriously, if you want to watch it this Christmas, you’ve got plenty of options!
The movie is only available on Peacock until the end of the month, suggesting it was added to the platform to take advantage of the seasonal excitement around Die Hard.
What Else Is New on Peacock?
Peacock added the action classic Die Hard to its streaming service on December 1st, just in time for the holidays. They also included other popular Christmas movies like A Christmas Carol, Jingle All the Way, The Night Before, and Unaccompanied Minors.
