Last year brought fans the first new Digimon Story game in over ten years, and 2026 is looking to be another great year for Digimon enthusiasts. We already knew about the upcoming mobile RPG, Digimon Up, scheduled for release in 2026, and new downloadable content for Time Stranger. Now, there’s even more to look forward to: the mobile Digimon trading card game, Digimon Alysion, which was announced last year, officially has a confirmed release timeframe for 2026.
While we knew Digimon Up was coming in 2026, Digimon Alysion has been shrouded in secrecy. A limited beta test was available in late 2025, but a firm release date remained unknown – until today. The official @DigimonAlysion account on X announced that the mobile card game is scheduled to launch in 2026. This means fans can look forward to not one, but two, new Digimon games this year!
Digimon Alysion Confirms 2026 Release Window in New Dev Update
It’s been a while since the last update on Digimon Alysion, so here’s a quick overview. Announced in early 2026, this mobile game is a free-to-play digital version of the Digimon Card Game. Players will collect Digimon cards and battle with them. Digimon Alysion will include new card designs and an original story. We’ve already seen some new Digimon revealed in artwork for the game, and more are expected soon.
Players first tried out the game in a closed beta back in August 2025. The initial reactions were a bit of a mix – people liked the card designs and how the game played, but many thought the user interface needed improvement. Bandai has been working on those improvements based on player feedback, and showcased the updated battle screens and Digivolution animations during the Digimon Con stream in March. Now, the developers seem happy with the progress and have finally announced a release window for Digimon Alysion.

The mobile version of the Digimon TCG is officially launching in 2026! While a specific date hasn’t been announced, this is the first confirmation of a release this year. The announcement also revealed a connection to the physical Digimon Card Game: starter decks featuring cards from Digimon Alysion will be available in December 2026. This suggests Bandai expects the mobile game to launch on or before December to coincide with the physical deck release.
We’re excited to learn about two new free-to-play Digimon games coming to mobile devices in 2026! While we don’t have exact release dates yet, both Digimon Up and Digimon Alysion are expected to launch later this year. I’m already clearing space on my phone – it looks like I’ll be adding Digimon to my Pokémon gaming routine!
