Supermassive Games, the studio behind Until Dawn, seems to be back on track with Directive 8020, a sci-fi horror game clearly influenced by the Alien franchise.
The game will look and run its best on the PS5 Pro, according to details shared on the PlayStation Blog.
I’m really excited about how amazing this game is going to look! They’re using this new PSSR 2 upscaler with the upgraded system, and the Technical Director, Will Burdon, explained it’ll basically make everything – the environments, characters, even the little details – look incredibly sharp and clear, frame by frame. It’s going to really bring the world to life, apparently!
This AI tool can convert low-resolution images into clear 4K quality, which helps to save processing power for other tasks.
The game will look and run better thanks to improved ray tracing, more realistic shadows, and a smoother overall experience.
It’s notable that Sony is collaborating with Supermassive Games to showcase these features so clearly. This seems to indicate they’re increasing their marketing efforts for the PS5 Pro, especially after revealing PSSR 2 earlier this month.
As a huge fan, I’m really excited to hear that Directive 8020 is going all-in on the PS5! They’re using everything the DualSense controller has to offer – the motion controls, the built-in speaker, and especially the amazing haptic feedback – to make the game world feel truly immersive. It sounds like it’s going to be a really incredible experience!
PlayStation is eager to double down on its message here: the best place to play is on PS5.
