Disappointing Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Update Confirmed By Crunchyroll CEO

Just weeks after its release worldwide, the first movie in the *Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle* series became the highest-grossing anime film ever. The franchise had already surpassed Studio Ghibli’s long-held record in 2020 with *Mugen Train*, and this new installment proved to be even more popular. The film kicks off a massive battle between the Demon Slayer Corps and all of Muzan Kibutsuji’s demons. The passing of key members of the Ubuyashiki family, including the Corps’ leader Kagaya Ubuyashiki, fueled the Demon Slayers’ determination to avenge him.

Despite confronting Muzan, Tanjiro and the Hashira were immediately pulled into the Infinity Castle. Once inside, Nakime, a powerful demon who plays the biwa, trapped all the Demon Corps members and scattered them throughout the castle’s endless maze. This first film in a three-part series focuses on several key characters as they try to survive the castle and overcome the obstacles they face. While the arc includes many thrilling fights, the story isn’t finished and will continue in the next two movies. Now, as fans eagerly anticipate the second film, Crunchyroll CEO Rahul Purini has shared some concerning news with *The Hollywood Reporter*.

Demon Slayer Studio Hasn’t Confirmed Infinity Castle’s Part 2 Release Date

With the first part of *Infinity Castle* now available, fans are eager to learn about the next installment. However, in a recent interview with *THR*, creator Purini explained that while a three-movie series has been planned, Aniplex and Ufotable, the production companies, haven’t set release dates yet.

He added that it’s important to get more *Demon Slayer* content to fans quickly.

The manga finished in 2020, just a year after the anime series began. While most fans know what happens in the Infinity Castle, seeing the story come to life on the big screen is creating a lot of excitement.

Making an anime movie of this size and with this level of detail is a huge undertaking. Because of this, Ufotable will probably need more time before they can announce when the second part will be released.

I noticed Purini was optimistic about the future of the series. He mentioned they’re still focused on getting the current movie out, but assured me they’re already collaborating with their partners to make the next two films even more impressive than this one.

The first part of this series is getting amazing reviews, especially for its beautiful animation, fantastic music, and exciting, long action sequences in the Infinity Castle Arc. It’s playing in theaters now, so be sure to see it while you can!
