Disney Animated Revival Announces Final Season

Disney often brings back popular stories and characters in both movies and TV shows. We’ve seen sequels and reboots of classics like The Lion King, Inside Out, and Toy Story. But even the best things eventually finish, and Disney has announced that one recently revived series will be ending with its fourth season. The show first appeared in 2001, and while it’s wrapping up, fans will get a final season in 2026.

According to Deadline, The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder will conclude after its upcoming fourth season. The show originally aired from 2001 to 2005, and the revival premiered in 2022. Interestingly, while the revival has more seasons than the original, it will have fewer episodes in total. Fortunately, fans will get one last treat: a holiday special, The Proud Family: Louder And Prouder Christmas Special, will be released shortly after the finale. The fourth and final season will be available on Disney+ next month, starting July 29th.

A Star-Studded Proud Family Finale

The main cast of Louder and Prouder will be back for the show’s final season, but they won’t be the only ones appearing! Disney has announced a lineup of big-name guest stars joining the fourth season, including Mariah Carey, Chloe Bailey, Ali Wong, Romany Malco, Tiffany Haddish, Anthony Anderson, Christopher “Mad Dog” Russo, and several others.

Although an official summary of the fourth and final season hasn’t been revealed, Deadline suggests Penny Proud will experience challenging and surprising adventures that push her limits and make her question who she is. The new season promises both exciting twists and emotional moments. While fans are sad to see the Disney show end, it’s happening at a special time – this year marks the 25th anniversary of The Proud Family!

Now that the revival of The Proud Family is finished, what’s next for the show’s creators? Bruce W. Smith and Ralph Farquhar have signed new contracts with Disney Television Animation, suggesting we might see more from them in the future. Given the success of revivals like Phineas & Ferb for Disney, this finale might not be the last we see of the Proud family.
