As a longtime movie critic, I’ve been watching Disney’s strategy of remaking their animated classics in live-action, and while they’re not rushing into quite as many as they used to, they still have a few exciting projects in the works. We’re getting a live-action Moana surprisingly quickly after the original animated film, and just yesterday, Disney confirmed a Tinkerbell project for Disney+. But the news everyone was really waiting for? A live-action Tangled is officially moving forward, and development seems to be progressing nicely. I, for one, am eager to see how they bring Rapunzel’s story to life in a new way.
Rumors circulated that actress Kathryn Hahn, known for her roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, was in talks to play Mother Gothel in the upcoming live-action Tangled movie. Now, Hahn has confirmed the news herself! She shared a fun video on social media showcasing her “Outfit of the Day,” which included a custom T-shirt featuring the iconic villain. You can see the video below.
This is a developing story, it will be updated.
