Even though the holiday is over, there’s still plenty to enjoy this week! Disney’s latest live-action series is now available for streaming, and if you’re excited about Power Rangers, you can check out a similar show that’s already out now.
MGA Entertainment’s new show, Armorsaurs, clearly draws inspiration from Power Rangers. Similar to Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, it features dinosaurs and a team of young heroes who must team up with them to fight against an invading enemy. You can now watch Armorsaurs on Disney+.
What Makes Armorsaurs Stand Apart From Power Rangers?

Armorsaurs is similar to Power Rangers in that it’s based on an earlier show – in this case, Armored Saurus. Both series feature dinosaurs and young heroes discovering their abilities, but after that initial setup, they tell very different stories.
The dinosaurs in Power Rangers inspire everything from the rangers’ costumes and morphers to their giant robot Zords, with each Zord modeled after a different dinosaur species. This creates instantly recognizable designs, but ultimately, the Zords are still just powerful robots.
That’s not the case with Armorsaurs. These are real dinosaurs equipped with strong armor and a cockpit for their human pilots. When you see Cobalt charging into battle, it’s a genuine Triceratops, but heavily armored and armed to destroy enemies. The same applies to the Tyrannosaurus Rex named Ajax, the Raptors Blaze and Pulse, and the Pteranodon Velox – they’re all real dinosaurs enhanced with armor and weapons.
Another key difference lies in how the heroes work with their partners. In Power Rangers, the Rangers summon their Zords during fights and then combine them to defeat larger enemies like those from Rita or Zedd. But the Armorsaurs are presented as actual characters – similar to how Saba is in Power Rangers – and the heroes must form a bond with their dinosaurs before they can even fight together.
The relationships between the characters are significantly improved, making them feel more realistic. However, the action sequences remain just as exciting and visually impressive as the iconic battles with the Dinozords, maintaining a key element fans love.
Armorsaurs is now streaming on Disney+.
