AdHoc Studio announced that their game, Dispatch, has sold over 1 million copies in just 10 days. They celebrated the achievement with a humorous post on BlueSky, jokingly wishing they’d sold 80 million copies before acknowledging that reaching 1 million sales in 10 days is still a fantastic accomplishment.
Following the launch of Episodes 1 and 2 on October 22nd for PlayStation 5 and PC – which let players experience the unique world of this choice-based, superhero comedy – developer Adhoc has been releasing new episodes every week. They’re aiming to finish the series around mid-November to keep players engaged. Episodes 5 and 6 will be available on November 5th at 9 AM Pacific Time.
The game is gaining strong traction. Not only did sales exceed expectations, but Dispatch is receiving overwhelmingly positive reviews on Steam, with a “Very Positive” rating. This is especially encouraging for a unique, story-driven game made by a team with experience from Telltale Games. Currently, it has over 19,000 reviews, and 93% of players recommend it.
In short, the strong initial viewership and quick release of episodes indicate that Dispatch is a successful launch, and viewers are genuinely engaged with the plot and characters, making them eager to continue watching.
It only took two days to sell 80 million copies – that would have been amazing! We did still manage to sell a million copies in ten days, which is a great result.
